Abstract:
A combination memorial and storage urn for cremated remains is disclosed, and may include a separate container/support and a pedestal for displaying the memorial.
Abstract:
Carbon nanotubes are grown directly on metal substrates using chemical vapor deposition. Metal substrates are comprised of catalysts which facilitate or promote the growth of carbon nanotubes. The nanotube coated metal substrates have applications including, but not limited to, heat transfer and thermal control, hydrogen storage, fuel cell catalytic reformers, electronics and semiconductors, implantable medical devices or prostheses, and tribological wear and protective coatings.
Abstract:
A charging cradle for recharging cordless telephones which is modular and configurable in a variety of ways is provided. The cradle includes a charging unit and interchangeable telephone support structure. The charging cradle has at least two interchangeable support elements, one of which includes recharging elements. The support elements are removably attachable to support struts and may be attached in any order. The support struts are in electrical communication with the charging unit. The recharging support element includes electrical communication elements which connect the charging unit with the recharging contacts located on the external surface of the telephone handset. The charging cradle is adapted to hold the telephone handset in a nested relation while recharging the batteries located within the handset. Safety features prevent overcharging. The charging cradle may be constructed in such a manner to permit the recharging of most cordless portable telephones.
Abstract:
A method of using a hand-held miniature device for injecting an agent into a tree with continuous pressure that is adjustable. The device features one-thumb on/off switch operation for a metered dose, precise dose measuring, and air-powered injection in a lightweight device. The on/off switch does not need to be held in the on position by a user.
Abstract:
Methods and systems provide a “tree view” for a markup language referred to as Reusable Data Markup Language (“RDML”). Generally, a tree view comprises the components necessary for automatically manipulating and displaying a graphical display of numerical data contained in RDML markup documents. RDML is a markup language, such as the Hypertext Markup Language (“HTML”) or the Extensible Markup Language (“XML”). Generally, RDML facilitates the browsing and manipulation of numbers, as opposed to text as in HTML, and does so by requiring attributes describing the meaning of the numbers to be attached to the numbers. Upon receiving RDML markup documents, the tree view transforms, formats, manipulates and displays data stored in the markup documents using the attributes describing the meaning of the data. The tree view uses the attributes of the numbers to, for example, facilitate the simultaneous display of different series of numbers of different types on a single display. It automatically displays the relationship between series of numbers while displaying appropriate labels, titles, number precision, etc. A tree view may be a component of a data viewer used to retrieve, manipulate, and view documents in the RDML format.
Abstract:
A material processing method produces a fiber product by anaerobic digesting of input material such as dairy flush to produce a gas product and a liquid and solid fiber product, by thereafter separating liquid components and solid fiber components of the liquid and solid fiber product, and by thereafter aerobic conditioning of the solid fiber components to derive the fiber product useful as a soil amendment in the manner of peat moss
Abstract:
The global access control system and method presents a solution to synchronizing the physical access devices that federal agencies must try to meet Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 201 requirements. The method encompasses wire and wireless technology, IP Security (IPSec), the assignment of IPv6 addresses to every device, integrating with logical access control systems, and providing a homogeneous audit and control format. As part of FIPS 201, Government identification badges (Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards) will include an IPv6 address that uniquely identifies every card holder. By assigning an IPv6 address to every access device and using the card holder's IPv6 address, every access device can be used for global access control. Moreover, common and interoperable audit records throughout an entire enterprise (logical and physical) are possible. This unique combination of technologies provides a mechanism for integrating heterogeneous systems to provide merging of physical and logical access control systems.
Abstract:
A form-fitting foot covering (10, 34, 44) is provided including a sole portion (14, 36, 46) and a corresponding uppers portion (16, 38, 48) which is designed to be worn in a tightly fitting manner over a user's foot to provide protection and comfort. The inner surface (20) of the foot covering (16, 34, 44) may carry a medicament (22). The foot covering (10, 34, 44) may be integrally formed using a thin, resilient, stretchable resin material such as latex, vinyl or nitrile, and they may be equipped with a laminated resilient gel padding layer (30). Alternately, the uppers portion (38) may be formed of a woven cloth material (40) or a perforate synthetic resin material presenting air holes (52). An optional adhesive (60) may be used to hold the foot covering in place and create a watertight seal.
