摘要:
A closed loop three color alignment system for a digital projector comprises a light source and an optical engine (50) which splits a beam of light from the light source into first, second, and third wavelength bands. A first, second, and third spatial light modulator (11, 12, 16) imparts image data and a first, second, and third fiducial data to the first, second, and third wavelength bands. A combiner combines the modulated first, second, and third wavelength bands. A diverter diverts a portion of the combined modulated wavelength bands to a sensor. The sensor (21) senses a relative position of each of the fiducials and sends the position information to a microprocessor. The microprocessor then determines an error based on the relative position of the fiducials. The microprocessor then sends a signal to at least one component of the system to resolve the error.

A digital projector that has closed loop three color alignment comprising a light source where an optical engine (50) splits a beam of light from the light source into first, second, and third wavelength bands. A first, second, and third spatial light modulator (11, 12, 16) imparts image data and first, second, and third fiducial data respectively to the first, second, and third wavelength bands. The first, second, and third wavelength bands are directed to the first, second, and third spatial light modulator (11, 12, 16), respectively. A combiner combines the modulated first, second, and third wavelength bands. A diverter (19) diverts a portion of the combined modulated wavelength bands to at least one sensor. The sensor (21) then senses a relative position of the fiducials and sends the position information to a microprocessor. The microprocessor then determines an error based on the relative position of the fiducials. The microprocessor sends a signal to at least one component of the system to resolve the error.

In an inkjet printhead using a gas flow, typically air, to deflect select drop into catch, gas flow (air) ducts are employed to direct the air across the drop trajectories. Improved air ducts include liquid flow channels in a wall of the air duct are provided to allow ink to be removed from the air duct without disrupting the air flow in the duct. A process for cleaning the air duct using the liquid flow channel is also provided.

A method of forming a color filter is provided. The method includes providing a mixture of a color filter material and a compressed fluid; providing at least a partially controlled environment for retaining a substrate, the at least partially controlled environment being in fluid communication with the mixture of the color filter material and the compressed fluid; providing a shadow mask in close proximity to the substrate retained in the at least partially controlled environment; and chargably releasing the mixture of the color filter material and the compressed fluid into the at least partially controlled environment, wherein the color filter material becomes free of the compressed fluid prior to contacting the substrate at locations defined by the shadow mask thereby forming a patterned deposition on the substrate.

A data-reading image capture apparatus, camera, and method of use. The capture apparatus has a digital image detector sensitive to a band of visible radiation and a band of invisible electromagnetic radiation. An optical system, in the capture apparatus, focuses the bands of electromagnetic radiation on the image detector. An image separator is disposed in the capture apparatus, in operative relation to the digital image detector and optical system. The image separator is switchable between an image capture state and a data reading state. The image separator is attenuative for the band of invisible radiation and transmissive for the band of visible radiation in the image capture state. The image separator is attenuative for the band of visible radiation and transmissive for the band of invisible radiation in the data reading state.

Adjustable reader arrangement and method of reading encoded indicia formed on an object. The reader arrangement comprises a base and a detector removably connected to the base for detecting the indicia. The detector has a first portion thereof adapted to be removably connected to the base and also has a second portion thereof pivotably adjustable into alignment with the indicia formed on the object. An emitter is coupled to the detector for emitting a signal indicative of the indicia detected by the detector. The reader arrangement is ergonomically conducive to reading encoded information on the object as an operator brings the object in the vicinity of the reader.

A data reader has a digital image detector an optical system imaging on the digital image detector, and a marker beam source that emits a diverging, centerless visible light projection. A data reading system includes the data reader and media bearing: a visible primary image and a secondary image overlying the visible image. The secondary image is transparent to visible radiation and modulates a band of invisible electromagnetic radiation. The media also bears visible indicia aligned with the secondary image.

A method of printing and a printhead are provided. The printhead includes a nozzle array having a width; a gas flow source; and a gas flow duct in fluid communication with the gas flow source. The gas flow duct includes an expansion region and a compression region. The expansion region of the gas flow duct gradually expands along its cross sectional length to at least the width of the nozzle array. The compression region of the gas flow duct gradually contracts along its cross sectional length.
