Abstract: A pigmented pulverulent composition based on polyamide for coating substrates, including: (a) 40% to 99% by weight of at least one polyamide, (b) 1% to 30% by weight of at least one pigment, and (c) 0% to 30% by weight of at least one additive, wherein the polyamide has an inherent viscosity, as measured using an Ubbelohde tube at 20° C. on a 0.5% by weight solution in m-cresol according to standard ISO 307 but with a measuring temperature of 20° C. rather than 25° C., of more than 0.7 (g/100 g)−1, and wherein the composition has a volume-median diameter Dv50, as measured according to standard ISO 9276—parts 1 to 6, of 10 to 200 μm. A process for manufacturing the composition, the use thereof for coating a—metallic—substrate, and an object comprising a metallic substrate coated with a coating obtained with the pigmented pulverulent composition based on polyamide.

Abstract: A coating film having excellent adhesion, even without the presence of a chemical conversion film treatment as an undercoat, and a metal automotive part having the coating film. A powder is deposited by powder-coating onto the surface of a metal automotive part that has been quenched after simultaneously forging, and tempering the metal automotive part and bake-hardening the deposited powder to form a skin film on the surface of the metal automotive part. The surface of the metal automotive part before the powder is powder-coated thereon is a work-hardened material surface that has not been subjected to a chemical conversion filming treatment.

A coat body 5 is manufactured by a step (a) of forming a first coat liquid layer 3a by applying a first coat liquid onto a first surface of a base member 1 loaded out from a carry-out unit, a step (b) after the step (a), of forming a second coat liquid layer 4a by applying a second coat liquid onto the first coat liquid layer, a step (c) after the step (b), of forming a coat layer 3a and a coat layer 4b by drying the first coat liquid layer and the second coat liquid layer, and a step (d) of loading in the base member including the coat layer 3b and the coat layer 4b formed thereon by a carry-in unit. And, in the step (a), the first coat liquid is applied onto the first surface of the base member. In the step (b), the second coat liquid is atomized onto the first surface of the base member.

Abstract: Some variations provide a method of forming a transparent icephobic coating, comprising: obtaining a hardenable precursor comprising a first component and a plurality of inclusions containing a second component, wherein one of the first component or the second component is a low-surface-energy polymer, and the other is a hygroscopic material; applying mechanical shear and/or sonication to the hardenable precursor; disposing the hardenable precursor onto a substrate; and curing the hardenable precursor to form a transparent icephobic coating. The coating contains a hardened continuous matrix containing regions of the first component separated from regions of the second component on an average length scale of phase inhomogeneity from 10 nanometers to 10 microns, such as less than 1 micron, or less than 100 nanometers. The transparent icephobic coating may be characterized by a light transmittance of at least 50% at wavelengths from 400 nm to 800 nm, through a 100-micron coating.

Abstract: A nanoparticle coated hydrogel may be formed by a method of electrospraying nanoparticles on to a surface includes providing a drug and polymer combination in solvent to an inner capillary of a coaxial dual capillary spray nozzle. A coating with a drug that releases over time may be provided. Open and closed matrixes may be selectively formed to help modify time release periods.

Abstract: Disclosed are a graphene material and a manufacturing method thereof. A high molecule powder material is uniformly mixed with a blend of carbon black and graphene to form a material mixture. An electrostatic spraying operation is conducted by using an electrostatic spray gun to spray the material mixture of the high molecule powder material, carbon black, and graphene to a surface of a substrate so as to form a graphene coating layer such that the substrate supports the graphene coating layer. The high molecule powder material is at least 10 grains and the blended carbon black and graphene takes weight percentage of 1-10%. Carbon black is distributed in graphene so that mutual contact between carbon black and graphene and material properties of carbon black that show high conductivity makes electrical charges contained in the graphene material easy to move.
