    摘要: This subject invention features a robot deployed weapon system. A remotely controlled mobile robot has a weapon mounted to the robot. There is a firing circuit for the weapon and a weapon interrupt module on board the robot. An operator control unit is for remotely operating the robot and the weapon. The operating control unit preferably includes a stop switch. Also, a separate operator module is in communication with the weapon interrupt module. Preferably, the operator module includes a kill switch. There are two communication links. The first communication link is between the operator control unit and the robot. This communication link is configured to safe the weapon if the stop switch is activated and/or the first communication link degrades. The second communication link is between the operator module and the weapon interrupt module. The communication link is configured to safe the weapon if the kill switch is activated and/or the second communication link degrades.

    摘要: An authentication system for securing information within a disk drive to be read and written to only by a specific host computer such that it is difficult or impossible to access the drive by any system other than a designated host is disclosed. While the invention is similar in intent to a password scheme, it significantly more secure. The invention thus provides a secure environment for important information stored within a disk drive. The information can only be accessed by a host if the host can respond to random challenges asked by the disk drive. The host's responses are generated using a cryptography chip processing a specific algorithm. This technique allows the disk drive and the host to communicate using a coded security system where attempts to break the code and choose the correct password take longer to learn than the useful life of the disk drive itself.

    摘要: Systems and methods for automatic price monitoring of an online marketplace. The online marketplace is a virtual store (e.g., web-based) for buyers and sellers to exchange goods or products. A system includes a price monitoring module coupled to a market server, and buyer and seller devices. The price monitoring module retains a position garnered by a seller with the lowest price by periodically adjusting a subscribing seller's listing price to beat competing seller prices. The price monitoring module can be configured according to price parameters which gauge how much sellers are willing to concede. The price parameters can include, for example, a default listing price for a product, a decrement amount, a minimum listing price, and the like.

    摘要: Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for the delivery and targeting of therapeutics using nanometer sized polysaccharide structures. The methods and compositions described herein afford improved efficacy for pharmaceuticals such as anti-tumor drugs on metastatic tumor. The methods described herein are applicable to all chemotherapeutic agents and are especially useful for poorly soluble (hydrophobic) drugs which when formulated with the present compositions render them deliverable in physiological fluids. The methods and compositions described herein also improve the efficacy of pharmaceutical agents by targeting carbohydrate receptors specific to tumors that mediate endocytosis or enhance delivery of the drug to the ultimate site of action.
