A web service facilitates real time payment of suppliers' invoices with accounts issued by issuers to account holders. A payment request received by the web service from a client, identifying a credit limit for one commercial account in a pool thereof, is sent from the web service to the issuer to determine availability of the account and the credit limit for an account holder. If the issuer's response to the request confirms availability, payment instructions to the issuer are sent from the web service to pay the supplier's invoice. Alternatively, the request can be to determine availability of a single-use-account (SUA) and an adjustment to the account holder's credit limit from the issuer in order to make a future single payment on the SUA to the supplier for a purchase corresponding to a future invoice from the supplier who has not yet provided goods and/or services pertaining to the invoice.

A decision mechanism (30) automatically controls access to content, and a synchronization controller (32) manages a group of platform synchronization tables (33). There is no need to download content every time a particular client device (7) accesses the platform (1), as automatic synchronization of the tables at the platform and client ends ensure full access control to content remaining on the client device (7). If a student requests access to content using a different client device there is again synchronization and access can continue as if the same device is used, after the content is downloaded and decrypted.

A task engine (6) controls the presentation of challenges to students. A support engine (7) manages retrieval and outputting of support content and instruction tutors for guidance of a student. A judging engine (8) automatically analyses software developed by a student to generate a result. The result provides a competency profile, something which is very valuable to the student as it clearly indicates deficiencies in ability or knowledge.

The system comprises a communication interface adapted to communicate with a client computer executing an event management software and with a computer from each issuer, a processor coupled to the communication interface, and a management module executable by the processor. The management module receives, through the communication channel, a request to issue a financial account related to the meeting from the event management software. The request includes an issuer identifier and meeting account parameters. The management module generates an account issuance message and transmits the message to a computer of the issuer identified by the issuer identifier. This way, the process of opening a financial account associated with a meeting event is automatically done without having to manually contact the issuer.
