摘要: A packet processing system architecture and method are provided. According to a first aspect of the invention, a plurality of quality of service indicators are provided for a packet, each with an assigned priority, and a configurable priority resolution scheme is utilized to select one of the quality of service indicators for assigning to the packet. According to a second aspect of the invention, wide data paths are utilized in selected areas of the system, while avoiding universal utilization of the wide data paths in the system. According to a third aspect of the invention, one or more stacks are utilized to facilitate packet processing. According to a fourth aspect of the invention, a packet size determiner is allocated to a packet from a pool of packet size determiners, and is returned to the pool upon or after determining the size of the packet. According to a fifth aspect of the invention, a packet is buffered upon or after ingress thereof to the system, and a packet for egress from the system assembled from new or modified packet data and unmodified packet data as retrieved directly from the buffer. According to a sixth aspect of the invention, a system for preventing re-ordering of packets in a packet processing system is provided. A seventh aspect of the invention involves any combination of one or more of the foregoing.

摘要: Disclosed is a system and method for assembling a data packet. The system can be implemented as four memory elements associated with one or more processors. The first memory element stores a sequence number and a sub-channel identifier for an incoming data packet. The second memory element stores a revised packet fragment. The third memory element stores an unrevised packet fragment. The fourth memory element stores a starting address. In the system, the starting address may be the starting address of the revised packet fragment or the unrevised packet fragment wherein the first memory element identifies portions of the fourth memory element associated with the sequence number. The one or more processors are configured to create a modified data packet by combining the unrevised packet fragments and the revised packet fragment, wherein the modified data packet is associated with the sequence number and sub-channel identifier.

摘要: A method for generating a preamble of a frame for a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless communication begins by, for each transmit antenna, generating a carrier detect field. The method continues by, for a first grouping of the transmit antennas, generating a first guard interval, and at least one channel sounding field. Continuing, the method applies cyclical shift prior to transmission via the first grouping of the transmit antennas. When the MIMO wireless communication includes more than the first grouping of the transmit antennas, for another grouping of the transmit antennas. For the another grouping of the transmit antennas, generating at least one other channel sounding field. The method proceeds by generating the first guard interval prior to the at least one other channel sounding field, and applying another cyclical shift prior to transmission via the another grouping of the transmit antennas.

摘要: A mobile network comprises remote base transceiver station (BTS) nodes (3, 4) linked with a central base station controller (BSC) node (9). The latter is in turn linked with a mobile switching center (MSC, 10), a visitor location register (VLR, 11), and a home location register (HLR, 8). Mobile stations (2, MS-A, MS-B, and MS-C) are located in the cells of the BTSs (3, 4). The remote nodes (3, 4, 3(a), 4(a)) are connected to the central node BSC (9) over a remote backhaul satellite connection. Calls are routed locally while the central nodes continue to manage calls and services from central feature-rich and typically more reliable switches of a core network. This means that calls set up between subscribers on the same remote node get connected within the remote node but call supervision is still carried out by the central nodes. The features and services of the existing core network are preserved. For example, if the calling subscriber is a pre-paid GSM subscriber and their account runs out during the call a release signal will still be sent from the central node to the remote even though the voice traffic is being handled by the remote node.

In particular, methods and systems are described that enable a determination of a pre-distortion correction signal to be determined, which when added to the nominal signal, a reduction in the distortion of the power amplifier results. In addition, methods and systems are described that enable calibration of individual power amplifiers to be accomplished for use with the above described approach. More specifically, the methods and systems are described for use in a MIMO application. These approaches may be applied to on-chip power amplifiers, off-chip power amplifiers, or any combination thereof.
