The assembly includes a distribution matrix that is securable onto the front side of the patch panel, the distribution matrix including a plurality of through-going apertures corresponding in number and location to the first sockets of the patch panel such that when the matrix member is secured on the patch panel a said aperture is functionally in register with each of the first sockets. A floor chamber (11) for use in building construction includes a cavity (13) and a movable lid (14) supporting one or more electronic components (17) and/or an aerial (19) whereby to define at least part of an access point in or on the floor chamber. An in-use upper side of the cavity is openable and closeable on moving of the lid (14). The arrangement provides a convenient wireless access point that is integral with a floor chamber. A floor construction including one or more floor members defining a floor and including therein a wireless access point and a floor-level wireless access point network are also described, the floor-level wireless access point network comprising two or more access points connected together by an under-carpet cable system.

An out of band communications apparatus includes first and second data lines arranged in a differential pair. The data lines convey high speed data within a first frequency range and out of band data within a second frequency range that differs from the first frequency range. The apparatus also includes a band pass filter coupled to the first and second data lines. The filter only passes the out of band data and blocks the high speed data. The apparatus also includes a device coupled to the band pass filter and configured to at least one of transmit and receive out of band data.
