摘要: An apparatus for controlling movement of a wire configured to deploy an implant is presented herein. The apparatus can include a wire including a bump and a valve including a friction element configured to apply a friction force to the wire. The friction force can vary based on one or more of: a speed at which the wire is pulled through the friction element, a direction in which the wire is pulled through the friction element, and a contact between the bump and the friction element. The wire can be configured to deploy an implant upon a proximal retraction of the wire.

In some examples, the clot retrieval device can include a cage structure and a shaft, and the cage structure can be configured to pinch a clot. A portion of the shaft extends through the delivery catheter. In some examples, the valve assembly can include a distal valve, a main body portion, a distal body portion, and a moveable head shell. The distal valve can be configured to engage the proximal region of the delivery catheter. In some examples, the distal body portion can include a plurality of grooves, and the moveable head can be configured to ratchet proximally over the plurality of grooves to thereby maintain tension on the shaft.

The method of detecting composition of a clot in a vessel of a patient may include introducing a solution containing tagged tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) into a circulatory system of the patient, waiting a predetermined time for the tagged tPA to interact with the clot, scanning an area of the patient corresponding to the clot, and outputting a composition of the clot based on an intensity of a signal at the clot in the scan corresponding to the tagged tPA.
