摘要: The invention relates to formulated compositions which can be easily formed into bottle caps, without the need for a liner, while still maintaining pressure requirements, such as for carbonated beverages. The compositions may include an ethylene polymer having a density in the range of from about 0.947 to 0.962 g/cm3, a melt index of from about 1 to about 10 g/10 min., and another ethylene polymer having a density in the range of from about 0.912 to 0.932 g/cm3, a melt index of from about 0.25 to about 6 g/10 min., wherein the two ethylene polymers have a density difference of equal to or greater than 0.03 g/cm3. In other cases, the composition may include a single component resin with a density in the 0.935-0.955 g/cm3 range with a melt index in the range of 0.3-1.2 g/10 minutes, and wherein the resin comprises a polyethylene polymer.

The continuous phase has a broad PI and provides the multimodal propylene impact copolymer composition with excellent processability. Thermoformed articles made from the multimodal propylene impact copolymer exhibit improved rigidity and good impact strength.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a molded article composed of a polymeric composition and processes for producing the same. The polymeric composition includes from about 60 wt % to about 99 wt % of a matrix of a propylene-based polymer. The propylene-based polymer has a refractive index (n1). The polymeric composition also includes from about 40 wt % to about 1 wt % of elongated elastomer particles dispersed in the propylene-based polymer. The elongated elastomer particles have a refractive index (n2). The propylene-based polymer and the elongated elastomer particles exhibit a refractive index mismatch whereby |n1−n2|>0.002. The molded article has a haze value less than about 20% and optionally a viscosity ratio (VR) greater than 0.28.

摘要: The instant invention is a high-density polyethylene composition, and method of making the same. The high-density polyethylene composition of the instant invention includes an ethylene alpha-olefin copolymer having a density in the range of 0.935 to 0.952 g/cm3, a melt index (I2) in the range of 30 to 75 g/10 minutes, an I21/I2 ratio in the range of 13-35, a Mw/Mn ratio in the range of 3.5-8. The high-density polyethylene composition has a brittleness temperature of at least less than −20° C. The process for producing a high-density polyethylene composition according to instant invention includes the following steps: (1) introducing ethylene, and an alpha-olefin comonomer into a reactor; (2) copolymerizing the ethylene with the alpha-olefin comonomer in the reactor; and (3) thereby producing the high-density polyethylene composition, wherein the high-density polyethylene composition having a density in the range of 0.935 to 0.952 g/cm3, a melt index (I2) in the range of 30 to 75 g/10 minutes, an I21/I2 ratio in the range of 13-35, a Mw/Mn ratio in the range of 3.5-8, and a brittleness temperature of at least less than −20° C.

摘要: Propylene impact copolymers (ICPs) are provided which comprise: (a) a matrix phase which comprises from 60 to 95 weight % of a polypropylene polymer containing from 0 to 6 mole % of units derived from one or more alpha-olefins other than propylene, and (b) a dispersed phase which comprises from 5 to 40 weight % of a copolymer derived from a first comonomer which can be either propylene or ethylene together with a second alpha-olefin comonomer. The ICP is further characterized by having a beta/alpha ratio less than or equal to 1.1. The ICPs of the present invention are particularly well suited for applications requiring clear, tough polymers such as thin walled injection molded articles for frozen food packaging applications.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a molded article composed of a polymeric composition and processes for producing the same.
