摘要: Group message delivery in a time multiplexed paging system is accomplished by providing in normal message packets a group ring indicator. A paging device collecting a message interrogates the group ring indicator to determine availability of a pending group message. If a group message is available, the paging device can target a dedicated time slot associated with group message transmission. In this manner, a single transmission of a group message is made available to all paging devices of the paging system. In one embodiment, the group ring indicator is a single bit indicating merely availability of a pending group message, the paging device then targeting and collecting the available group message to determine whether the paging device subscribes to that particular group message service. In a second embodiment, the group ring indicator indicates not only availability of a group message, but also the type of group message available. The paging device thereby determines based on the value of the group indicator whether the indicated available group message need be pursued.

摘要: An attached growth biological reactor for the growth and harvesting of filamentous fungi. The reactor contains a rigid cylinder which is partially submerged and rotated in a biological medium containing nutrients for fungal growth and which as been inoculated with a filamentous fungal medium. The filamentous fungi attaches itself to and grows upon the cylinder wherein it is removed by use of a doctoring blade. The reactor can be operated in a continuous mode by continuously supplying oxygen and nutrients to the reactor.

摘要: A gun-type oil burner is disclosed having a motor axially aligned with a fuel pump and a blower at opposite ends. The blower draws air into the burner, the amount of which is controlled by an adjustable air gate. The blower inlet is covered by a removable, protective air scoop. Upon removal of the air scoop, an outside air boot is easily connected to the burner without burner modification. The air in the burner travels along a serpentine path which contains smooth curves and perimetrally disposed protrusions for reducing the velocity of the air flow and maintaining its static pressure. The air flows through an air tube in a helical pattern, mixes with oil and is ignited at the air tube outlet. A fuel nozzle, ignitors and a fuel supply conduit are supported as a burner sub-assembly within the tube by a spider. A preselected stop of a number of removable stops of differing sizes is located on the spider and properly positions the burner sub-assembly within the air tube. The burner sub-assembly may be viewed through a window located near the rear of the air tube on the burner assembly.
