A controller module may be configured to determine the macro-diversity region size based on a set of pre-selected configuration parameters including an incoming rate of the content data and to allocate at least a portion of the content data to a macro-diversity region, to monitor an amount of the content data in the buffer in accordance with the set of pre-selected configuration parameters including an incoming rate of the content data to determine whether the amount of content data falls into or out of a target range defined by a low-end value and a high-end value and to adjust the size of the macro-diversity region by one or more increments in response to changes in the amount of the content data in accordance with the target range.

    摘要: A rate and power control algorithm for a communication system, the algorithm including the steps of: assigning a target channel condition metric to be met at a first terminal for signaling received from each of one or more remote terminals of the system, each terminal supporting a plurality of rates and a plurality of transmit power levels, each target channel condition metric based upon the type of service supported by each remote terminal; receiving a signal at the first terminal from each remote terminal; and adjusting a respective target channel condition metric assigned for a respective remote terminal in response to signal information generated from the received signal. In variations, the algorithm is performed in a distributed manner by different cells of a communication system and at least two of the remote terminals support traffic of different types of service.

    摘要: A mesh point operable in a decentralized wireless network is provided. The mesh point includes a transceiver and a processor. The transceiver is operable to communicate with other mesh points. The processor is programmed to execute a routing protocol such that, when a first policy of the routing protocol is selected and a transmission failure occurs between the mesh point and a current parent node of the mesh point, the processor is operable to execute instructions to promote finding another route to a root. The other route to the root is found by referencing a topology, if the topology is available, to identify the route to the root. If the route is not found, the transceiver transmits a one-hop broadcast route request. If the route is still not found, the mesh point enters a route discovery state.
