Abstract: A method for determining filtering capabilities of a magnification device suitable for providing protection from light when viewed through the magnification device is disclosed. The filtering capability of the magnification device is determined based at least one of an input power of the inputted light signal, a magnification level of the magnification device and an orientation of the filtering within the magnification device. Further disclosed is an lighting system that generates a light, which when reflected into the magnification device is prevent from causing damage to a user's eyes based on the selection of the filtering system disclosed herein.

Abstract: A light control device providing handsfree control of a lighting source using measures of the orientation of the lighting source is presented. The measurement of the orientation of the lighting source is monitored and while the orientation retains the light outputted by the lighting source within a designated area, the light output remains in an ON state. However, with the orientation of the lighting source indicates the light output may be outside the designated area, the light output is turned OFF. In addition, a method for calibrating the system to define the designated area is disclosed.

The lighting elements includes a dome lens that is removably positioned on a light source, such that the light source is retained at a location within a focal length of a projection lens and at or within a focal length of the dome lens. The dome lens magnifies the light outputted by the light source, such that the projected light is brighter than the light generated by the light source.

Abstract: A light management device comprising a protective light cap or cover is disclosed that provides for the blockage or allowance of designated wavelengths from being inadvertently being viewed by persons or being projected onto an external surface. The protective light cap or cover is pivotable connected to a lighting source to allow the cap to be positioned over the light source and moved away from the light source. The protective light cap is retained in an open position that allows the light source to be viewed, by one of a magnetic catch or a physical catch.
