The stream of forced air, for cooling the drawer (6), enters the drawer (6) through openings (R) made in the rear wall (6B), impinging directly on the articles contained therein. As a result, the articles contained in the drawer (S) are cooled more efficiently and rapidly. The drawer (6) also comprises devices for optimising the flow of air, preventing the cooling orifices from being blocked (K) by the objects contained in the drawer (6).

A method of modifying the atmosphere in a food storage space for food includes the steps of: providing a module capable of being removably engaged to an appliance and typically receiving power from the appliance and at least one removable gas canister; operatively connecting or otherwise engaging the module with the appliance; operatively connecting or otherwise engaging the module to a food storage area having an existing atmosphere; and removing at least a portion of the existing atmosphere from the food storage space and replacing it with a modified food storage atmosphere using at least one of the at least one removable gas canisters to supply the modified atmosphere to the food storage area.

摘要： This invention provides a method and apparatus for determining the weight of foods contained in a microwave oven and for controlling their treatment in accordance with that weight. The apparatus determines the weight by measuring the heating of a body of microwave-sensitive material disposed in the chamber during a stage of operation of the magnetron at a predetermined power for a predetermined time, wherein the heating of the body disposed on a wall of the cooking chamber which is not screened by the foods is measured by comparing the variation in the electrical characteristics of components disposed external to the chamber. The electrical components are disposed in a position corresponding with the body and in a position corresponding with a part of the wall which is not associated with the body, such that ambient temperature variations in the body are compensated for by corresponding temperature variations in the wall not associated with the body.

The apparatus determines the weight by measuring the heating of a body of microwave-sensitive material disposed in the chamber and not shielded by the food during a stage of operation of the magnetron at a predetermined power for a predetermined time, wherein the heating of the body disposed in the cooking chamber is measured. Thereafter, cold is administered to the body so as to return its temperature to a constant value and maintain it thereat until another weight determination is to be made. The method is implemented by an apparatus including a body constructed of microwave-sensitive material positioned on a wall of the cooking chamber, a temperature sensor for sensing the rise in temperature of the material when exposed to microwave energy, and a cold generator for returning the temperature of the material to a constant temperature.

摘要： A fluid dynamic diverter valve is provided which has a valve body with a fluid inlet zone communicating with a fluid diversion zone, which in turn communicates with a fluid outlet zone. In the fluid inlet zone there is at least one inlet for a fluid, at least one air inlet and a venturi passage for guiding the fluid as a jet. In a passage downstream of the venturi passage the air inlet communicates with the fluid jet exiting the venturi passage and the jet enters the diversion zone. Depending on whether the air inlet is blocked or not, the fluid jet either continues straight through the diversion zone to a first outlet from the valve body or, if the air stream is blocked, the jet is diverted to impinge upon a wall in the diversion chamber, the wall being arranged to be directed toward a different one of the outlet openings in the fluid outlet zone. A second (or more) air inlet might be provided and a third (or more) body outlet may be provided such that selective blocking of one of the air inlets will cause the fluid jet to be diverted in the diversion zone to a different one of the body outlet openings. A control may be provided in combination with the valve for controlling the air flow into the air inlets which may be in the form of a low power actuator. The diverter valve can be used in a wide variety of applications and has particular usefulness in a domestic appliance such as an automatic washer or dishwasher.
