Abstract: The present document relates to methods and systems for setting up and managing two-dimensional or three-dimensional scenes for audio conferences. A conference controller (111, 175) configured to place a plurality of upstream audio signals (123, 173) associated with a plurality of conference participants within a 2D or 3D conference scene to be rendered to a listener (211) is described. The conference controller (111, 175) is configured to set up a X-point conference scene with X different spatial talker locations (212) within the conference scene; assign the plurality of upstream audio signals (123, 173) to respective ones of the talker locations (212); determine a degree of activity of the plurality of upstream audio signals (123, 173); determine a dominant one of the plurality of upstream audio signals (123, 173); and emphasize the dominant upstream audio signal (123, 173).

Abstract: A telecommunications device (1) comprises a base part (2), a cap part (4), a body part (3), a control panel (5), an upper light ring (9), a lower light ring (8), a plurality of sound microphones and a plurality of sound speakers. The cap part (4) is con cave in shape. The body part (3) is frusto-conical in shape and tapers outwardly away from the cap part (4) towards the base part (2). The body part (3) and the cap part (4) cover the sound microphones and the sound speakers. The control panel (5) is inclined relative to the plane of the support surface (6) and relative to the plane of the base part (2). The control panel (5) protrudes upwardly from the upper edge of the body part (3) over the concave cap part (4), and the control panel (5) protrudes downwardly from the lower edge of the body part (3). The control panel (5) controls operation of the sound microphones and the sound speakers. The upper light ring (9) is located between the cap part (4) and the body part (3). The lower light ring (8) is located between the body part (3) and the base part (2). When the device (1) is in an active state in which the device (1) is capable of capturing sound and/or rendering sound, each of the light rings (8, 9) emits light to indicate the active state of the device (1).

Abstract: From a plurality of received voice signals, a signal interval in which there is a talker collision between at least a first and a second voice signal is detected. A processor receives a positive detection result and processes, in response to this, at least one of the voice signals with the aim of making it perceptually distinguishable. A mixer mixes the voice signals to supply an output signal, wherein the processed signal(s) replaces the corresponding received signals. In example embodiments, signal content is shifted away from the talker collision in frequency or in time. The invention may be useful in a conferencing system.

The conversational interactivity data may provide an indication of interactivity between participants of a conversation represented by the audio data. A jitter buffer size may be controlled according to the network jitter dynamics data and the conversational interactivity data. The time interval may include a plurality of talkspurts.

In one embodiment, The audio spatial rendering apparatus includes a rendering unit for spatially rendering an audio stream so that the reproduced far-end sound is perceived by a listener as originating from at least one virtual spatial position, a real position obtaining unit for obtaining a real spatial position of a real sound source, a comparator for comparing the real spatial position with the at least one virtual spatial position; and an adjusting unit for, where the real spatial position is within a predetermined range around at least one virtual spatial position, or vice versa, adjusting the parameters of the rendering unit so that the at least one virtual spatial position is changed.

Abstract: A method of outputting audio in a teleconferencing environment includes receiving audio streams, processing the audio streams according to information regarding effective spatial positions, and outputting, by at least three speakers arranged in more than one dimension, the audio streams having been processed. The information regarding the plurality of effective spatial positions corresponds to a perceived spatial scene that extends beyond the speakers in at least two dimensions. In this manner, participants in the teleconference perceive the audio from the remote participants as originating at different positions in the teleconference room.
