    Abstract: A service request for communication services for communication clients is received. In response, a communication service network is set up to support the communication services. Routing metadata is generated for each of the communication clients. The routing metadata is to be used by each of the communication clients for sharing service quality information with a respective peer communication client over a light-weight peer-to-peer (P2P) network. The routing metadata is downloaded to each of the communication clients. A communication client may exchange service signaling packets or service data packets over the communication service network. When the communication client determines that there is a problematic region in a bitstream received from the communication server, the communication client can request a peer communication client for a service quality information portion related to the problematic region.

    Abstract: A voice quality estimation process may be triggered by receiving one or more alarms corresponding to one or more endpoint terminals being used during a teleconference. The alarm(s) may include uplink transmission alarms, downlink transmission alarms and/or acoustic quality alarms. The alarms may be based on evaluating transmission metrics and/or acoustic quality metrics. The voice quality estimation process may require a relatively greater computational burden than the processes of evaluating the transmission metrics and/or acoustic quality metrics for the purpose of potentially triggering an alarm. The accuracy and computational complexity of voice quality estimation may be adjusted by selecting times during which alarm detection will take place, alarm detector thresholds, alarm analyzer thresholds and/or levels of voice quality estimation.

    Abstract: A system and method of matching reverberation in teleconferencing environments. When the two ends of a conversation are in environments with differing reverberations, the method filters the reverberation so that when both signals are output at the near end (e.g., the audio signal from the far end and the sidetone from the near end), the reverberations match. In this manner, the user does not perceive an annoying difference in reverberations, and the user experience is improved.
