A process for producing thin photoresists on printed circuit boards wherein a metallic-layered substrate is conveyed beneath a free falling curtain of a photopolymerizable substance, said substance having a viscosity of 30-120 seconds DIN cup 4 @ 25.degree. C. and being applied at a curtain height of 5-25 cm. above the board to form a coating having a dry film thickness up to about 1.5 mil after the coated surfaces are dried, whereupon the surfaces are available for photoimaging, developing, etching and stripping operations.
Abstract:
The disclosure is of a display panel, known as a bar graph and used for displaying bars of light of varying length. The panel includes an anode and a series of cathode bars, the cathodes being connected in three phases of groups which are formed by a trifilar winding on an insulating base plate. The anode for the panel may be formed on the face plate which is hermetically sealed to the base plate to form a gas-tight envelope which is filled with an ionizable gas.The principles of the invention can be used to make other types of panels having electrodes connected in groups.

This disclosure relates to a hold down mechanism which is particularly adapted to apply a preselected hold down pressure on an element. It employs a bar which is pivotally mounted on a support member with the bar having a hold down surface thereon so positioned that when the bar is pivoted in a selected direction the hold down surface will engage the element in clamping relation and further pivoting of the bar in the same direction will result in the shifting of the pivot point for the bar from the pivot member to the hold down surface. The pivot member is spring loaded for lifting movement at this time with an associated spring pack providing for a controlled loading by the hold down surface against the element. A movable cam member having a wedge shaped lower end moves between a cam follower carried by the arm and a fixed cam follower to effect the controlled pivoting of the bar.

A non-pourable, flavored, spreadable emulsion comprising about 8 to about 15% of a high solids fat, the balance being water and sweetening agent with lesser amounts of stabilizing agent, emulsifier, and protein. The use of a high solids fat makes the emulsion temperature stable over a wide temperature range. The emulsion is particularly suitable as a spreadable syrup for such food products as pancakes and waffles, and becomes fluid at the usual temperatures of serving of such products.

There is disclosed a low-calorie whippable topping composition which comprises a protein, a stabilizing gum, a sweetener, an emulsifier, and a fat wherein the fat is a high solids fat such as hydrogenated palm kernel oil and the fat and emulsifier are present in relatively low proportions.

Imitation cheese is manufactured by a flow process from a plurality of edible ingredients comprising fat, protein, water, and flavor wherein the cheese product is set by the addition of an acidulant, in lieu of fermentation. The edible ingredients are introduced into an elongated, confined mixing zone in such a way that the acidulant and protein are in distinct and separate flow streams until in said zone, and in the zone are subjected, at a temperature of at least about 100.degree. F, to medium-to-high intensity axial and radial flow mixing. The mixing is continued until a substantially homogeneous mixture is obtained.

A tool for calibrating a non-contact tonometer (NCT) comprises a body having a mating feature configured for removably mounting the body on the nosepiece or on the measurement head of the NCT, a pressure sensor carried by the body and arranged to receive an air pulse discharged by the NCT to provide a pressure signal in response to the air pulse, and a radiation emitter carried by the body, wherein the radiation emitter provides a pseudo-applanation event when the pressure signal reaches a predetermined level that is detectable by the NCT as though an actual corneal applanation had taken place. In one embodiment, the mating feature includes a mounting orifice for receiving a portion of the nosepiece. In another embodiment, the mating feature includes a pair of mounting pins sized for receipt by a corresponding pair of mounting holes in the measurement head of the NCT.

A coater is provided for coating objects with a liquid material. The coater includes a flume that has an entry and an exit end, a supply of liquid coating material upon which the objects float, and a circulation system. The circulation system delivers the liquid material to the entry end of the flume so that the liquid material flows toward and out the exit end. The coater also includes a conveyor that loads the objects into the flume and a conveyor that receives the objects at the exit end of the flume.

A method for fabricating metallic conduit and the like having exterior surface details such as beads, bulges and flares by inelastic flow of the metal of an extruded blank which does not exhibit the detail. The process comprises the steps of placing a blank in a high pressure die, injecting oil or other incompressible pressure-transmitting fluid into the blank, and using advancing core punches, pressurizing the fluid to cause the metal of the blank to flow into detail cavities of the die.
