Provided is an apparatus and method for communicating data in a hybrid diversity mode in a broadband wireless communication system. In a method for transmitting data to a subscriber station (SS) in the broadband wireless communication system, null subbands are determined using feedback information received from the SS. TX data to be transmitted to the SS are mapped to a diversity zone from which the null subbands has been excluded. The mapped data are OFDM-modulated and transmitted to the SS. In this way, frequency subbands with poor channel conditions are excluded from data transmission. Accordingly, it is possible to enhance the FER performance and transmit data at a high MCS level.

Provided is a radio communication system for ultra wideband (UWB) impulse communications and a radio communication apparatus and method thereof. The present patent provides a radio communication system that can minimize power consumption by eliminating a need for carrier detection and sharing transmission/reception time information in UWB impulse communications. The system includes a network coordinator; and one or more devices communicating on a superframe basis in subordination to the network coordinator. The devices perform data transmission/reception in predetermined time slots and then they are inactivated to thereby reduce power consumption.

To be more specific, the present research suggests a transmitter employing multi-coded bi-orthogonal pulse position modulation/demodulation and a method thereof. The transmitter of the present research provides: a serial-to-parallel converter for convening L-bit serial data to be transmitted into parallel data by performing grouping on the L-bit serial data; a multi-coder for generating a multi-coded symbol by multiplying the parallel data by total L orthogonal codes of length Ns; a bi-orthogonal pulse position modulator for positioning the multi-coded symbol in a predetermined pulse period and performing biorthogonal pulse position modulation; and a pulse generator for multiplying an output signal of the bi-orthogonal pulse position modulator by a predetermined pulse and outputting an output signal.

A method for forming fine patterns includes (S1) closely contacting a cliche-forming film to a hard mold concavely patterned, thereby making a disposable cliche; (S2) coating an elastic blanket cylinder with ink or resin; (S3) compressing the elastic blanket cylinder to the disposable cliche to remove ink or resin on a surface of the elastic blanket cylinder at a portion contacting with a relatively protruded embossed portion of the disposable cliche; and (S4) transcribing ink or resin remaining on the surface of the elastic blanket cylinder to a substrate. This method allows simple and fast works and greatly reduces costs by adopting a disposable cliche that may be easily installed and removed. Also, this method may be effectively utilized to form a fine pattern of an electronic device or a display device such as color filter and electrode.
