The method comprises transmitting an ultrasonic signal into the paper roll and detecting an ultrasonic return echo transmit signal from the paper roll, the ultrasonic return echo transmit signal resulting from the ultrasonic signal interacting with the paper roll. Moreover, the method comprises determining an amount of paper remaining on the paper roll in response to the ultrasonic return echo transmit signal. Furthermore, the method may comprise indicating that the paper roll needs to be replaced in response to determining the amount of paper remaining on the paper roll.

摘要: A system includes an ultrasonic transducer positioned to be in contact with the outer surface of a paper roll. The system further includes a transmitter circuit and a receiver circuit in communication with the ultrasonic transducer. The transmitter circuit provides a transmit signal to the ultrasonic transducer for generating an ultrasonic signal, which is transmitted into the paper roll. The receiver circuit provides a received signal indicative of an ultrasonic return echo from the paper roll. The ultrasonic return echo resulting from the ultrasonic signal interacting with the paper roll. The system also includes a processor circuit for determining an amount (length or diameter of roll) of paper remaining on the paper roll in response to the transmit signal and the receive signal. The processor provides an output signal when the amount of paper remaining falls below a threshold. A method of sensing paper on a paper roll is also presented. The method includes transmitting an ultrasonic signal into a paper roll and detecting an ultrasonic return echo from the paper roll. The ultrasonic return echo resulting from the ultrasonic signal interacting with the paper roll. The method further includes determining an amount of paper remaining on the paper roll in response to the ultrasonic return echo transmit signal.

摘要: A tilt adjustment mechanism having an upper housing, a lower housing and a shaft assembly is disclosed. The shaft assembly receives the gears which are pressed on either end of shaft. The shaft fits through locating slots in the lower housing. Each of the gears are activated by internal gears located on each side of the upper housing. The internal gears are integrally formed with the upper housing. The upper housing is hinged on the lower housing and can rotate 20 degrees. The shaft assembly mechanism provides a torsion bar function to insure that the upper housing moves evenly with respect to the lower housing. Even motion in the upwards and downwards directions of the housing is provided by even rotational torsional motion and opposite rotational torsional motion of the shaft assembly of the tilt adjustment mechanism. The shaft assembly mechanism decouples the frictional load in the two different rotational directions about its shaft. This permits the adjustment of the forces to optimal levels in both directions. A relatively high force is desired to move the upper housing in a downward direction. This prevents the operator's touches on a display tablet, mounted to the upper housing to cause the tilt adjustment mechanism to move in the downward direction. A relatively low force is required to move the tilt adjustment mechanism in the upwards direction.

摘要: A component including a generally flat, planar base panel and a stand movably coupled to the base panel, wherein the stand is movable to an extended position wherein the stand is generally not positioned on or above/below the base panel. The stand includes first and second portions pivotally connected together. When the stand is in the extended position the stand is movable to a propped configuration wherein the first and second portions form an angle therebetween to define a display surface at least part of which is positioned at an angle relative to the base panel.

摘要: Apparatus and method for displaying three-dimensional images with a display device. A blocking grid is positioned between a display device and a viewer, and a drive system oscillates the blocking grid in accordance with the display of a plurality of images. Each image is aligned with the grid and is structured such that each eye of the viewer sees only a displayed portion of a displayed image intended for that eye, thereby creating a three-dimensional effect.
