    摘要： An method and apparatus for providing access to fluid transmitting vessels of a patient, the apparatus comprising a catheter that is coupled to a hub. A needle, coupled to a needle housing, may be received within the hub and catheter. A cap is coupled to the hub and may be actuated between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the cap interfaces the hub thereby sealing an end of the hub. In the open position, the cap is situated so that it does not substantially seal the proximal end of the hub.
