    摘要: A leak detector for use with a piping system, where the leak detector includes a housing configured to be attached to a conduit and a valve configured and arranged for axial movement with respect to the housing. Additionally, there is a magnet attached to the valve for movement therewith. Embodiments of the invention also preferably include a magnetically-actuated switch positioned within the leak detector along an axial flow path of a fluid such that axial movement of the magnet triggers the switch, which indicates fluid flow through the leak detector. In certain embodiments, there is also a leak passageway that permits a relatively small amount of fluid to pass to an outlet side of the valve even when a diaphragm is in seating contact with the valve if fluid pressure on the outlet side of the valve is slightly lower than fluid pressure on an inlet side of the valve.

    摘要: Apparatus for adding liquid fertilizer to a water line of a sprinkler system includes a mechanical injector device powered by a paddle wheel turned by water flowing through the water line. The mechanical injector device includes a plunger that moves back and forth in the plunger chamber. Movement in one direction allows liquid fertilizer from a liquid fertilizer reservoir to flow into the plunger chamber and movement of the plunger in the opposite direction injects the liquid fertilizer from the plunger chamber into the water. The mechanical injector device is coupled to the paddle wheel which causes movement of the plunger in the plunger chamber in at least one direction. Spring bias can cause movement of the plunger in the other direction. The mechanical injector device can be disabled to stop fertilizer injection while still allowing rotation of the paddle wheel. The paddle wheel is coupled to the mechanical injector device through a plunger gear which rotates, and interacting camming surfaces which project from the plunger gear and from a ratchet. A preferred fertilizer for use in the apparatus includes a bio-stimulant.

    摘要: A pressure regulator for supplying water to a poultry watering system or the like includes a control assembly for operating the pressure regulator in a normal or “on” mode, an off mode or a flush or bypass mode. A desired operating pressure is set by loading a diaphragm responsive to output pressure changes. Diaphragm movement is transferred by the control system to a valve member cooperating with an inlet orifice. The control system includes a spring captured in a preloaded state between first and second end members, one connected to the valve member and the other connected to the diaphragm. A knob is rotated from a normal “on” position to an off position and a collar pushes the end members together and pushes the valve member against the orifice. The knob is rotated to a flush or bypass position and the collar pulls the end members together and pulls the valve member away from the orifice. The inlet orifice and an inlet port are parts of a removeably mounted inlet member.

    摘要: A gravity flush toilet system includes a fixture with a water sealed trap and a tank having an overflow tube, a flush valve and a fill valve. A control assembly includes a float assembly with a member for pushing the flush valve toward its closed position as the water level descends. A full volume or a reduced volume flushing operation is selected by alternatively filling or emptying a bias chamber of the float assembly. Water pressure variations are compensated for by increasing the weight of the float with part of the flow through the fill valve as the tank is emptying. A regulated volume of reseal water is carried in a chamber on the float and is discharged into the overflow tube to refill the fixture trap after each flushing operation.

    摘要: A fill valve assembly for a toilet tank or the like includes a riser and a head portion that can be vertically adjusted without removal or disassembly of the valve in order to select a precise tank liquid level. Telescoping conduits in the riser are secured in adjusted position by a bayonet latch system including detents assisted by the force applied by pressurized liquid at the inlet to the assembly. A main valve disk is held against a valve seat by pressure in a control chamber in a standby position and is moved to an open position by venting of the control chamber. The valve includes an axial peripheral flange having an enlarged bead portion captured in an annular channel to provide an O-ring type seal against positive and negative pressure while maximizing flexibility of the disk. A lever for controlling a pilot seat for venting the chamber is pivoted between fulcrum flanges and is held by shoulders abutting one of the flanges. The lever is pivoted by a float in a float chamber. A weir and a float controlled valve prevent entry of water into the float chamber in a refill cycle until tank liquid level reaches the selected level to be maintained.

The fill valve may be disassembled for service without removal from the tank. A coupling and mounting nut assembly facilitates mounting without tools in a variety of tanks. A backflow preventer at the fill valve inlet includes an upstream disc member, a downstream cup member and a unitary elastic body having an outer ring portion and two inwardly extending check valve portions cooperating with flow passages in the disc and cup members.

    摘要: A faucet assembly including pinch valves for controlling the flow of hot and cold water. A base is secured to the deck of a sink from above the deck and a body secured to the base completes the faucet housing. A spout extends over the basin and includes an outlet at its end. Two flexible tubes are connected to a mixing chamber near the outlet and extend through the spout and through the base for connection to hot and cold water conduits remote from the sink deck. The tubes are normally pinched closed adjacent the mixing chamber by springs, and operating levers at opposite sides of the spout rotate about a shaft and operate a linkage and valve mechanism for overcoming the spring forces to permit flow. Lost motion connections render the spring closing forces independent of lever position. A cross bar limits lever movement and provides a support surface against which the tubes are pinched. The tubes are located in the valve region by a block which serves as a barrier to leakage.
