Abstract:
One example embodiment relates to a method that comprises receiving, via a first portable electronic device, contextual information and a geolocation relating to a first user in a network-based system; receiving, via second portable electronic device, contextual information and a geolocation relating to a second user in the network-based system; identifying a common element in the received contextual information relating to the first user, and the received contextual information relating to the second user; in response to an identification of the common element, defining a boundary for a geofence based on the geolocation of the first or second users, and redefining the boundary of the geofence to exclude at least one member from the population, the exclusion based on an identified change in geolocation or contextual information relating to the at least one excluded member.
Abstract:
There are provided systems and methods for proper dispensing of items through proximity detected devices with users. A service provider may set up a wireless beacon next to a dispenser that provides one or more items to a user. The beacons may connect to a user's device and provide the dispenser with identification information for the user. Based on the connection and the identification information, the dispenser may access dispensing information for the user that informs the dispenser of a type, quantity, and amount of one or more items to provide the user. The dispensing instructions may further include time frames for providing the item(s) to the user and other security information required before providing the item(s) to the user. Once the dispensing information is accessed, the dispenser may then provide the user the item(s) in accordance with the dispensing information.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for person/group check-ins include a system provider device receiving from a first user device that is associated with a first user account a first check-in request to allow other user accounts to check-in to the first user account. The system provider device then receives from a second user device that is associated with a second user account a second check-in request to check-in to the first user account. The system provider device associates the first user account and the second user account in a database in response to receiving the second check-in request, and tracks an aggregate behavior associated with both the first user account and the second user account. The system provider device may then provide at least one alert that is based on the aggregate behavior.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method comprises receiving, via a mobile station, contextual information or geographic location data relating to a plurality of members of the population within the geographic region, identifying a common element in the received contextual information relating to at least two members of the population as a basis for defining a geofence to include the at least two members, wherein the common element is identified upon a comparison of the first and second contextual information, and defining the boundary of the geofence.
Abstract:
In various example embodiments, a system and method for transferring the state of a first device to a second device are disclosed. Information associated with a current state of a first device is captured. The captured information includes application states associated with a plurality of corresponding applications that are executing on the first device at the time of capturing the information. A type of connection to be used to transfer the state of the device is determined based on the connections available to the first device and the second device. The file containing the information of the state of the first device is transferred to the second device using the connection type. The file, when processed by the second device, causes the second device to reproduce the state of the first device.
Abstract:
Image data comprising an image of an environment is received from a mobile video device located at the environment. An image of a marker is extracted from the received image for use in identifying the location of the mobile video device. A location associated with the marker is extracted from a database and the extracted location is sent as the location of the mobile video device. Also received is a request for information about an item in the environment that is of interest to a user of the mobile video device. A location in the environment associated with the item of interest is identified, and the information indicating the location of the item is transmitted to the mobile device for display within an image of the environment on the mobile video device. The item of interest may be displayed as an augmented reality within an image of the environment.

Abstract:
A system or method is provided to estimate wait time at a line or a queue. In particular, the system may estimate the wait time at a line by detecting the presence of a user at the line via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication. In an embodiment, the system may detect when the user enters the line and when the user departs from the line via BLE beacons and may estimate the wait time at the line based on how long the user is in line. In an embodiment, a grid of multiple BLE beacons may be installed or provided at the location of the line to track the location and movement of a user. The system may determine the wait time for the line based on the location and the movement of the user.
