摘要： A stepped opening, diaphragm operated gas valve in which the operating pressure applied to the diaphragm is controlled by a spring biased pressure regulator and a delayed action pressure responsive actuator operating on an initial relatively low pressure acts, following a short delay, to increase the regulator spring bias, thereby to increase the controlled pressure and effect greater opening movement of the gas valve. An operative connection between the pressure responsive actuator and the regulator biasing spring includes means operative to transmit greater force and less movement during initial response of the actuator to the relatively low controlled pressure and greater movement and less force upon subsequent response of the actuator to the relatively greater controlled pressure developed as a consequence of the initial force and movement.

摘要： A biased closed diaphragm operated gas valve having one side of the operating diaphragm exposed to a first zone of pressure, a restricted passageway connects the other side of the diaphragm to the same pressure zone thereby to equalize the pressure on both sides of the diaphragm and permit the gas valve to close, and a branch of the passageway including a control valve connects the other side of the diaphragm to a second zone of different pressure when the control valve is opened thereby resulting in unequal pressure on the diaphragm and causing the valve to be opened. A portion of the passageway between the junction of the branch and the other side of the diaphragm comprises a tortuous spiral path of adjustable length lying along and between the screw threads of a screw threaded portion of the passageway and the threads of a screw threaded member threadedly engaged therein, whereby the change from equal to unequal pressure upon opening of the control valve is slowed and full opening of the gas valve is delayed. There is also the provision of a bypass which is open to flow tending to equalize pressure on opposite sides of the diaphragm and closes in response to a reversal of flow.

摘要： A flow control device for gas range ovens in which a main valve controlling the main burner outlet is operated in an ''''on'''' and ''''off'''' manner by an adjustable thermostat to maintain selected oven temperatures throughout, from warming, through baking, to broiling temperatures, and a bypass around the main valve opens to maintain a minimum constant burner flame when the thermostat is adjusted to broil temperature. The device further includes a thermoelectric safety cutoff valve controlling the fuel supply inlet thereto, a rotatable manual plug valve between the safety valve and the main valve, and a pilot gas outlet between the safety valve and the manual valve. The rotation of a single knob rotates the manual valve, adjusts the thermostat, and resets the safety valve.

摘要： A combined pilot burner and thermocouple unit comprising a chrome-steel tube element and a shorter nickel-copper rod element arranged coaxially therein and welded together at their outer ends to form a hot junction. The inner ends of the thermocouple tube and rod elements are suitably joined, respectively, end-to-end with a conductive metal tube and a coaxial conductive wire coextending with the tube to a remote gas control valve and to an electromagnet housed therein as gas supply conduit means and as electrical conduction means. A larger diameter burner tube surrounding and coextending with the chrome-steel tube element has a burner port at its outer end adjacent the hot thermocouple junction and is closed at its inner end around the chrome-steel tube element. An aperture in the wall of the chrome-steel tube element near its inner end permits the flow of gas from the conductive metal tube to the burner tube, and a fluid-tight seal in the chrome-steel tube element between the aperture and inner end of the shorter nickel-copper rod element excludes gas from that portion of the tube within which this element extends. Connector means at the remote ends of the conductive tube and wire provide a fluid-tight connection of the tube with a gas passage in the gas body and electrical connection with an electromagnet house therein.

Means are included to adjustably preset two combinations of the initial and increased regulator bias, with means to conveniently shift the biasing from one preset combination to the other to adapt to one or the other of two fuel gases.
