IN ADDITION, SINCE THEY ARE ENERGY DENSE COMPOUNDS WHICH ARE RAPIDLY AND COMPLETELY METABOLIZED, THEY IMPROVE THE NUTRITIONAL QUALITIES OF THE PRODUCT.

    Abstract: Fermentation process for the production of high-quality protein cells from petroleum hydrocarbons and oxygenated hydrocarbons using a particular technique for the coagulation of the produced cells. Very desirable acids for use in the present process are selected from the group consisting of perchloric acid and trichloroacetic acid. These acids are unique in that they serve the dual purpose of coagulating the cells and removing the nucleic acids contained therein.
