Abstract: A medium or low voltage circuit interrupter includes a housing with a first end cap, a second end cap that comprises a radial bellows, and one or more insulating sidewalls that extends from the first end cap to the second end cap. The end caps and one or more sidewalls provide a vacuum chamber. A fixed contact that extends through an opening of the first end cap and into the vacuum chamber. A moveable contact that extends through an opening of the second end cap and into the vacuum chamber. Multiple such interrupters may be electrically connected in series, positioned a single plane, and actuated by a single actuator.

The actuator/latch assembly includes an open, first latch unit and a close, second latch unit. The actuator/latch assembly is structured to maintain the movable conductor assembly in both the first position and the second position.

In some embodiments, the second terminal may include a conductive stud passing through an opening in the second bus bar. The apparatus may include a spring clamp attached to the first bus bar and contacting the first side of the body to retain the body.

Abstract: A circuit interrupter system includes a vacuum circuit interrupter having a vacuum chamber that contains a fixed contact and a moveable contact. A non-conductive rod extends from the moveable contact. One or more Thomson coils are wound around the rod, and one or more armatures are connected to the rod. When a driver energizes one of the Thomson coils, a corresponding armature will be repelled from that Thomson coil and move the rod to open or close the contacts of the vacuum circuit interrupter. The system also may include a damper that provides an active damping force rod when the rod is moved to open and/or close the vacuum circuit interrupter.

Abstract: A circuit interrupter system includes a vacuum circuit interrupter having a vacuum chamber that contains a fixed contact and a moveable contact. Abstract: A system and method are provided for protecting semiconductor components from thermal failure in an electronic circuit interrupter. The electronic trip unit (ETU) is configured to determine what range of current the detected current signal corresponds to, out of several ranges categorized as being either non-fault/normal, non-severe fault, and severe fault. The ETU then selects a mode of operation in which to operate based on the determined range of current. In modes of operation corresponding to a fault condition, the ETU monitors certain characteristics of the current such as magnitude and/or rate of rise, and if the aforementioned current characteristics exceed a specified threshold for a minimum interval of time, the ETU will trip the electronic interrupter. If, however, the aforementioned current characteristics fall below the specified threshold prior to the minimum interval of time elapsing, the ETU will not trip the electronic interrupter.
