    摘要: Systems and methods for lifting drilling fluid from a well bore in a subsea formation are disclosed. Some system embodiments include a drill string suspended within a drilling riser to form the well bore, and a drilling fluid source for supplying drilling fluid through the drill string during drilling. A diverter is coupled between the drilling riser and a return line, while a power riser coupled to the return line at an interface. A lift fluid source supplies lift fluid through the power riser into the return line. The lift fluid is intermittently injected from the power riser through the interface into the return line to form one or more slugs of lift fluid positioned between slugs of drilling fluid, such that the combined density of lift fluid and drilling fluid in the return line is less than the density of the drilling fluid alone.

The present invention utilizes a plurality of solenoid activated injector valves to meter fuel into an output plenum where the fuel is accumulated to avoid pressure pulses and pressurized if necessary for introduction to the combustion chamber of a gas turbine engine. Toolsets defining required performance of a subsystem, as well as hardware and software resources available to the subsystem, are transmitted to a subsystem provider. The subsystem provider responds with information about a subsystem that specifically comports with the toolset's definitions of performance and available resources. Whether two subsystem providers respond to a same toolset for a same subsystem or to different toolsets for different subsystems, the two subsystem providers are blocked from viewing the other subsystem provider's response. Further, each subsystem provider's response includes only information needed to comport with the toolset, thus preventing unnecessary disclosure of specifications of the subsystem beyond those defined in the toolset.

    摘要: Light propagating in a waveguide is modulated by deforming a cladding on at least one surface of the waveguide. The cladding has a thickness at least equal to the exponential depth of the evanescant field of the propagating light. A pair of electrode means is used to impress a field across the waveguide and cladding so that the cladding is deformed to a degree sufficient to interfere with the evanescant field and to modulate the propagating light.
