    摘要: A wall structure adapted to be fabricated in sections or modules and comprises an upper member, a lower member, a plurality of studs interconnected between the upper and lower members with respective studs including openings therein, and at least one diagonal brace member extending through the openings within the studs and interconnected between opposed corners of the wall structure. Because the internal brace extends generally centrally through the plane of the wall, the wall structure is designed to carry loads concentrically from the point of applied loads to a foundation or other termination point.

    摘要: A wall strap tensioner for tensioning a wall strap of a metal wall. The wall strap tensioner includes first and second links pivotally connected together. A fastener is secured to each of the first and second links for engaging and fastening to the wall strap. Disposed about the opposite end of the tensioner is a flexible cable adapted to be secured to a portion of the metal wall. A connector connects to the flexible cable and a handle is pivotally connected to the connector and movable between first and second positions. A connecting link extends between the first and second links and the handle, the connecting link including third and fourth links that are movable with respect to each other and which are movable between retracted and extended positions. A spring extends around the third and fourth links and biases the third and fourth links towards an extended position.

    摘要: A wall strap tensioner for tensioning a wall strap of a metal wall. The wall strap tensioner includes first and second links pivotally connected together. A fastener is secured to each of the first and second links for engaging and fastening to the wall strap. Disposed about the opposite end of the tensioner is a flexible cable adapted to be secured to a portion of the metal wall. A connector connects to the flexible cable and a handle is pivotally connected to the connector and movable between first and second positions. Once the handle assumes the second position, the metal strap is tensioned and can be fastened to an appropriate area of the metal wall.

    摘要: An improved load cell comprises flexing elements and support structure connected thereto by welding. Each flexing element has enlarged end portions, extending through openings in the support structure, and an intermediate flexing portion extending between the support structures. The enlarged end portions are welded to the end plates by electron beam welding so that the stress and strain characteristics of the intermediate flexing portions, between the end plates, are not modified from their pre-welded state.

    摘要: An electronic circuit with an output that may be used, for example, to control a servo system which positions grinders of a tire grinding machine to correct tires with large cleats is disclosed. The electronic circuit is responsive to an analog electrical signal to detect whether or not the rate of change in amplitude of the analog electrical signal equals or exceeds a preselected limit. If the rate of change in amplitude of the analog electrical signal does not equal or exceed the preselected limit, the output of the electronic circuit has a characteristic that is similar to the analog electrical signal. If the rate of change in amplitude of the analog electrical signal equals or exceeds the preselected limit, the output of the electronic circuit preferably remains constant at an amplitude which the analog electrical signal attained prior to the change in amplitude at a rate equal to or in excess of the preselected limit. Broadly, the electronic circuit functions as a slope discrimination system which permits passage of an analog electrical signal if the rate of change in amplitude is below a predetermined rate but blocks passage of the analog electrical signal when the rate of change in amplitude reaches or surpasses the predetermined rate. Circuitry is preferably provided to adjustably preset the value for the preselected limit. Additional circuitry is preferably provided to facilitate automatic reset during operation.

    摘要: Apparatus for weighing a billet adapted for use in conjunction with a billet manipulator. The weighing apparatus includes two or more cooperating billet weighing arms pivoted at one end to the billet manipulator which support the billet at their opposite end for weighing. Each arm has two planes of measurement spaced apart by fixed predetermined distance and the apparatus includes instrumentation which measures the bending moment on each arm at the two planes. The weight of the billet is proportional to the summation of the difference between the bending moments at the two planes for each arm and is independent of billet geometry or positioning of the billet on the apparatus.
