A method and an apparatus for communication between peer devices in which a cyclic-superframe including a plurality of superframes is used are provided. The method may include: receiving a discovery request command frame including information about a first cyclic-superframe for a peering period at an active contention access period (CAP) of the plurality of superframes; transmitting, to a peer device that has transmitted the discovery request command frame, a discovery response command frame corresponding to the discovery request command frame; and performing the peering period with the peer device based on the first cyclic-superframe.

Disclosed herein is a routing apparatus and method for configuring a LPWMN based on a channel hopping time-multiplexed wireless link. The routing apparatus of the present invention includes a control unit for setting up a channel hopping time-multiplexed wireless link with a gateway router, one or more routers, and one or more devices based on deterministic and synchronous multi-channel extension (DSME) media access control (MAC) link control (DSME MAC link control: DLC) sublayers and DSME MAC link network (DLN) sublayers. A communication unit transfers data frames to the gateway router, routers, and devices depending on connection quality of the channel hopping time-multiplexed wireless link.

A sensor network includes: a network coordinator that broadcasts a first beacon frame; a sensor device that receives a frame from the network coordinator or transmits a frame to the network coordinator; and at least one repeater that relays the frame of the network coordinator to the sensor device or relays the frame of the sensor device to the network coordinator and that broadcasts a second beacon frame that is synchronized with the first beacon frame, wherein the sensor device is synchronized with the second beacon frame to transmit/receive the frame, the cyclic-superframe includes a plurality of slotted-superframes corresponding to the first beacon frame and the second beacon frame, and the network coordinator, the sensor device, and the repeater operate in a periodically repeated cyclic-superframe structure.

Disclosed herein are provided a routing device and method for configuring a Low Power Wireless Mesh Network (LPWMN) including a channel hopping time multiplexing wireless link. The routing device includes a control unit and a communication unit. The control unit sets up a virtual link, a shared link, or a dedicated link to an external device or router. The communication unit forwards a data frame to the device or router based on the set-up link.
