摘要: Methods and means for imaging are provided. A sequential application hierarchy of two or more colors is defined. A page-wide print array forms images on a moving media using colored inks. Shingling is performed in accordance with the sequential application hierarchy within the overlap print zones of the page-wide print array. Images formed on the media are visually seamless and of proper hue and color saturation throughout as a result of the present teachings.

摘要: An ink jet printhead includes a printhead substrate having a plurality of thin film layers and four side by side columnar arrays of drop generators formed in the printhead substrate and extending along a longitudinal extent. Each columnar array has drop generators that are separated by a drop generator pitch P. The drop generators produce ink drops having a drop volume that enables single pass printing of a resolution that is 1/(4P) dpi along a print axis parallel to the longitudinal extent. Four columnar arrays of FET drive circuits formed in the printhead substrate are employed to energize corresponding columnar arrays of drop generators.

摘要: A compact monochrome ink jet printhead having a staggered high-density arrangement of ink drop generators for high-performance printing. The present invention provides a high-performance design that enable high-resolution and high-speed printing while reducing cost due to an efficient use of printhead space. In particular, the compact, high-performance printhead of the present invention includes several thermally-efficient aspects that allow a large number of ink drop generators to be placed on a compact printhead while minimizing problems such as thermal excursions. In a preferred embodiment, the ink drop generator density on the compact printhead exceeds 10 ink drop generators per square millimeter and the compact printhead contains at least 350 nozzles. The ink drop generators are arranged in at least four parallel rows. Each row is staggered (or offset) relative to an adjacent row to provide a greater effective pitch that a non-staggered arrangement. The ink drop generators of the present invention include high resistance resistors and a thin passivation to increase thermally efficiency. Further thermal control is achieved by ejecting low-weight ink drops from the thermally-efficient ink drop generators at a high ejection frequency that exceeds 12 kHz.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to an inkjet printing system that includes an inkjet printhead having a plurality of electrical contacts. The plurality of electrical contacts include address contacts and enable contacts for enabling drop generators and drive current contacts for providing drive current to enable drop generators for selectively ejecting ink therefrom. The printing system includes a printing device having a plurality of electrical contacts including address contacts, enable contacts and drive current contacts. The plurality of electrical contacts are configured to establish electrical contact with corresponding electrical contacts on the inkjet printhead upon insertion of the inkjet printhead into the printing device. The printing device provides periodic address signals and enable signals to the address and enable contacts one the printhead. In addition, the printing device selectively applies drive current to accomplish forming images on print media.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to an inkjet printhead having a plurality of drop generators that selectively eject ink in response to activation. The inkjet printhead includes first and second drop generators disposed on the printhead. Each of the first and second drop generators are configured for connection to a source of drive current. The inkjet printhead also includes a control device configured for connection to a periodic address signal and first and second periodic enable signals. The control device is responsive to the first periodic enable signal and periodic address signal for enabling the first drop generator for activation in response to drive current. The control device is responsive to the second periodic enable signal and periodic address signal for enabling the second drop generator for activation in response to drive current.
