A multidirectional expansion cursor and method of implementing the same are provided. The multidirectional expansion cursor displayed on a display screen and moved under input control of a user includes selection keys, wherein the selection keys are displayed on the display screen such that the selection keys correspond to one or more object selectable on the display screen, and, when an intended object among the one or more objects is selected by input control of a user, the intended object is executed. The method includes generating an expansion cursor displayed on a display screen to be moved under input control of a user, and partitioned by selection keys, making one or more objects selectable on the display screen correspond to the selection keys and displaying them on the display screen, selecting the selection key corresponding to an intended object to execute the intended object among the one or more objects.

The present invention relates to a character input device which allows all the characters which it is desired to input to be arranged in a minimum input region so as to be suitable for miniaturization, as well as allows each of the arranged characters to be input through only one-input operation so as to enable rapid and correct input of a character. The character input device includes a base having an input region; one or more sensing sections provided at the input region for sensing a contact with the input region or a contact movement to the input region; and a control unit for extracting data corresponding to each input operation from a memory unit (not shown) and inputting the extracted data, according to the position of a contact point or the movement direction of the contact point sensed by the sensing section relative to a reference input section provided at the input region.

Disclosed herein is a character input device including a plurality of directional input keys. The character input device includes input means including four input keys that are arranged in four radial directions around a center so that distances between adjacent input keys are uniform. The respective input keys are provided such that they can be moved toward a plurality of direction indication locations arranged in radial directions around a reference location, and can perform directional movement input. Accordingly, each of characters, numbers, and symbols can be input through a single action using four input keys, thereby enabling the minimization of the space and rapid and accurate character input. Furthermore, characters arranged on respective input keys are separately arranged in the directions of the movement of input keys, and thus a user can easily become accustomed to the operation of the input keys, thereby enabling efficient character input.

A system and method for translating a multilingual web page are provided. The method includes receiving an attempt of a user to access a specific web site through the Internet, grasping in which country a language registered by a user, a language used in an area corresponding to the IP address of the user, a language selected by the user, and a language input by the user are used, and, when a used language is different from a language in which an original text provided by the web page of the web site is written, replacing a translation in which the original text is translated into the language used by the user by the original text of the web page to provide the translation.

The present invention relates to a method of predicting and entering a character string and an electronic device in which the method is implemented. The method of predicting and entering a character string includes a step (S10) of entering a first letter and a second letter in an entry device in order of arrangement of the first letter and the second letter until each of the first letter and the second letter is displayed on a display window once or more; a step (S20) of entering a first first letter from among the first letters existing in the character string after the first letters and the second letters; a step (S30) of predicting a prediction character string group of 1 to N columns, including the three or more letters, as a candidate of the character string and displaying the predicted prediction character string group; a step (S40) of primarily selecting an intended character string from an N number of character strings in the prediction character string group; a step (S50) of sequentially entering subsequent first letters existing in the character string after the first first letter; a step (S60) of rearranging the prediction character string group in 1 to n columns by deleting character strings, not including the sequentially entered first letters, from the prediction character string group whenever the first letters are sequentially entered; and a step (S70) of secondarily selecting any one of the n number of character strings remaining in the prediction character string group.

Disclosed herein is a piezoelectric sensing unit and a data input device using piezoelectric sensing. The data input device of the present invention includes a base, an input unit, first piezoelectric sensing parts, and a control unit. The input unit performs a first directional input in such a way that the input unit moves to one of first direction indicating locations arranged around a base location in radial directions at positions spaced apart from each other within a pre-determined input radius defined on the base. The first piezoelectric sensing parts are provided on respective moving paths of the input unit, so that when the first directional input is performed, the corresponding first piezoelectric sensing part is pressed by the input unit, thus generating a first sensing signal proportional to a pressing force. When the first sensing signal is greater than a preset value, the control unit extracts data, assigned to the corresponding first direction indicating location at which movement of the input unit is sensed, from a memory unit and inputs the data.

The data input device includes a detection unit provided in a predetermined input region, the detection unit processing first directional input that generates a first directional input signal through detection of lateral pressing in a predetermined radial direction by a finger placed at a reference location in the input region, second directional input that generates a second directional input signal through detection of vertical pressing in a predetermined direction in a state in which the finger is placed at the reference location, third directional input that generates a third directional input signal through detection of tilt pressing in a state in which the finger is placed at the reference location, and fourth directional input that generates a fourth directional input signal through detection of a tilt input in a state in which the finger is placed at the reference location; and a control unit configured to determine input locations of a lateral pressing direction, vertical pressing direction, tilt pressing direction and tilting direction of the finger, extract relevant data from memory, and input the extracted data; wherein the data is input through combination of two or more of the first to fourth directional inputs.

The apparatus includes a conductive rubber member, to one end of which voltage is input and though the other end of which voltage reduced in proportion to the internal resistance and the length thereof is output; a voltage output member which is brought into contact with the conductive rubber member to output the voltage value of the conductive rubber member at the contact point; and a control unit which recognizes the contact point based on the voltage value input from the voltage output member, extracts data corresponding to the contact point from a memory unit, and inputs the extracted data.
