Abstract: A computer includes a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to collect operation data of one or more components of a vehicle, input the collected operation data and previously stored operation data to a first machine learning program that assigns the collected operation data to one of a plurality of previously determined paths and outputs a target fuel consumption rate of the vehicle based on the assigned path, input the target fuel consumption rate and the collected operation data to a second machine learning program that outputs a plurality of operation settings of the one or more components to attain the target fuel consumption rate, and actuate the one or more components to attain the plurality of operation settings.

A controller is configured to process image data from the image sensor identifying a coupler position of a trailer. The controller is further configured to process ultrasonic data from the ultrasonic sensor identifying a proximity of the trailer. Based on the proximity of the trailer, the system is configured to identify the trailer in a detection range of the image sensor.

Abstract: A vehicle system is configured to control a trailer alignment routine. The system comprises a hitch ball mounted on a vehicle and a controller configured to identify a coupler position of a trailer. The controller is further configured to control motion of the vehicle to an aligned position, wherein the hitch ball is aligned with the coupler position. In response to the aligned position, the controller activates a service brake holding the vehicle and while maintaining the service brake activation, the controller activates a parking brake.

Abstract: A vehicle powertrain includes a controller, a torque converter, and an engine and electric machine coupled by a clutch. The torque converter may be configured to couple the electric machine to an output shaft. The controller may be programed to generate a command for the electric machine to output torque to drive the torque converter toward a desired rotational speed, and to modify the command according to a difference between the desired rotational speed and an actual rotational speed to reduce the difference, wherein values of the difference are limited by thresholds that change with powertrain operation.

Abstract: A table of engine torque correction factors is used to compensate for noise factors. In a hybrid vehicle, the motor is used to measure engine torque during periods of constant transmission input shaft torque. By comparing the measured input torque to the requested engine torque, a controller can update the table of correction factors to compensate for changes in the noise factors. A service procedure may be implemented that systematically provides the controller an opportunity to update many values in the table.
