Abstract: A vehicle may include a battery and an antenna assembly mounted on the vehicle. The antenna assembly may be mounted on the roof of the vehicle. The antenna assembly may include a cooling arrangement electrically connected with the battery, a pair of thermally conductive plates, and a semiconductor sandwiched between the plates, electrically connected with the battery, and configured to, in response to a temperature difference between the plates, generate a current for the battery. A photovoltaic generator may be electrically connected with the battery to increase electrical generation.

Abstract: A system, for providing radio content to a vehicle, includes a vehicle communication system, a vehicle infotainment system, and a vehicle entertainment support server remote from the vehicle. The vehicle communication system includes a tuner unresponsive to a first radio transmission medium and is configured to transmit a radio content request requesting radio content from an identified radio station (i.e., a desired radio station). The vehicle infotainment system configured to obtain an input identifying the desired radio station broadcasting in the first radio transmission medium and emit radio content from the desired radio station. The vehicle entertainment support server remote is configured to: receive radio content from a source, store the radio content in a selected staging memory; obtain the radio content request; and transmit the radio content in the selected staging memory in response to the transmitting radio station being the desired radio station in radio content request.

Abstract: A vehicle may include a plurality of antennas each associated with a different radio frequency; and a modem including a radio-frequency transceiver and an antenna control processor configured to selectively connect a selected one or more of the plurality of antennas having a radio frequency matching at least one frequency associated with a desired service provider to the transceiver. The vehicle may also determine whether a service-provider-recommended alternate frequency is available, responsive to service provider signal strength being below a predefined signal strength; and if so, direct the modem to switch to an antenna associated with the alternate frequency, and otherwise, cycle to a next available antenna frequency.
