Abstract: An examination apparatus includes: a detecting unit; a specimen dispensing unit that has a nozzle, and a moving mechanism which moves the nozzle; a camera that captures an image of the nozzle; a notification unit that has an image display function and issues a notification of an error; and a processor that is configured to control the camera such that the camera captures an image of the nozzle in a state of holding the specimen after the specimen is suctioned through the nozzle and before the specimen is discharged to the reaction cell and acquires the image of the nozzle from the camera, determine a state of the specimen on the basis of the image of the nozzle, and cause the notification unit to issue the notification of the error and display the image of the nozzle in a case of determining that the state is abnormal.
