Abstract: An examination apparatus includes: a detecting unit that executes a detecting process of detecting a target substance in a specimen; a mixing unit that executes a mixing process of mixing particles and a liquid in a reaction cell, the mixing process being performed on the specimen to be provided to the detecting process before the detecting process; a first camera that captures an image of a mixed liquid obtained by mixing the particles and the liquid in the reaction cell; and a processor that determines a state of mixture between the particles and the liquid on the basis of the image of the mixed liquid captured by the first camera. The processor is configured to execute the detecting process of the target substance using the detecting unit in a case of determining that the state of mixture is favorable.
