Abstract: Provided are a composition including a coloring agent having a structure represented by Formula (1), an organic solvent, and a curable compound, in which a solubility of the coloring agent having a structure represented by Formula (1) in propylene glycol methyl ether acetate at 25° C. is 100 mg/L or less; a compound having a structure represented by Formula (4-1); a film formed of the composition; a near-infrared cut filter; a pattern forming method; a laminate; a solid-state imaging element; an infrared sensor; an image display device; a camera module; and a novel compound. (Dye)n-L1 (1) In Formula (1), L1 represents an n-valent linking group, n represents an integer of 2 to 10, where in a case where n is 2, L1 may be a single bond, and Dye's each independently represent a coloring agent structure having a maximal absorption wavelength in a wavelength range of 650 nm to 2,000 nm.

Abstract: Provided is a composition which has excellent temporal stability and excellent spectral characteristics, and with which a film with suppressed defects can be formed. The composition includes a coloring agent represented by Formula (1) and a curable compound, in which R1 to R4 each independently represent a substituent, R5 represents an aliphatic hydrocarbon group, R11 to R15 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent, and Y1 and Y2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent. However, at least one of R11, R12, R13, or R14 is a substituent or each of R11 to R15 is a hydrogen atom.
