    Abstract: A fiber arrangement member includes: a tubular housing that houses a plurality of optical fibers; and a plurality of guide portions extending from a first end in an axial direction of the housing toward side areas of the first end. The guide portions extend from the housing in different directions from each other crossing an axial line of the housing. The guide portions comprise guide grooves that house the optical fibers and communicate with an inner space of the housing. The grooves are open at sides of the grooves opposite to a second end in the axial direction of the housing on entire lengths in extending directions of the grooves. The grooves selectively house the optical fibers extended from the first end in the axial direction of the housing. The optical fibers housed in one of the grooves move into another of the grooves.

    Abstract: A jacket removal tool for an optical cable in which a rip cord is buried in a jacket is provided. The jacket removal tool includes: a blade that shaves the jacket; and a blade counterpart. An opening through which a part of the jacket shaved by the blade passes is disposed between the blade and the blade counterpart. The blade counterpart includes: a counter bottom surface along the optical cable; a counter side surface connected to the counter bottom surface; and an edge that connects the counter bottom surface and the counter side surface and that is disposed along a perpendicular line extending from a cutting edge of the blade with respect to the counter bottom surface. The edge is parallel to a blade line of the cutting edge.

    Abstract: A ferrule of the present invention includes a positioning mechanism for positioning an optical fiber, and a recess having at least a first inner wall for allowing a front end of the optical fiber portion positioned by the positioning mechanism to protrude, and a second inner wall opposite to the first inner wall. A distance between the first inner wall and the second inner wall is less than or equal to four times the outer diameter of the optical fiber.
