Abstract:
A superconducting fault current limiter (10) is provided with superconducting elements (71, 72) that are in a superconducting state during electrification with a current value in a fixed range and in a normal conducting state during electrification with a fault current in which the current value exceeds the fixed range and is further provided with a coolant vessel (20), which accommodates a liquid coolant (60) and a plurality of superconducting elements, and a cooling means (40) that cools the liquid coolant within the coolant vessel. Within the liquid coolant, the superconducting element (71) for which the critical current is smallest among the plurality of superconducting elements is disposed on the upper side of any other superconducting elements (72). Thus, the superconducting element (71) is cooled, and the life of the superconducting fault current limiter as a whole is extended.
Abstract:
A current limiter arrangement limiting an electric current between a first and a second terminal includes a first current limiting device and a second current limiting device arranged between the first and the second terminal. The first and the second current limiting device each include a substrate having a substrate surface area and a substrate thickness, and include a superconducting section arranged on the substrate and thermally coupled to the substrate thereby covering a coupling surface area on the substrate. Each of the superconducting sections has a critical current value and the substrate surface areas, the substrate thicknesses and or the coupling surface areas are implemented as a function of the critical current values.

Abstract:
The invention provides an oxide superconducting thin film, including: a base material; a superconducting layer containing a plurality of RE-based superconductor units including a rare earth element, CuO chains, and CuO2 planes; and an edge dislocation adjacent to the long CuO chain with respect to the layering direction. The CuO chains include long CuO chains that are present in the RE-based superconductor units in the vicinity of an interface between the superconducting layer and a layer adjacent to the base material side of the superconducting layer. The invention further provides an oxide superconducting thin film including a base material and an RE-based superconductor which includes CuO2 planes, CuO single chains and CuO double chains, and further includes a heterologous chain portion and a homologous chain portion.
