    摘要: A smart card receiver with a card receiving cavity, has upper and lower sets of contact blades for engaging the card contact pads when the card is inserted in the ususal orientation with its contacts pads facing downwardly, or when inserted in a second orientation with its contact pads facing upwardly. The card receiver has card confining-walls that are preferably devoid of a polarizing wall, so the card is inserted in the same position whether the card is inserted right-side-up or upside-down. The upper contact blades are transversely offset from the lower contact blades, to enable the reading of cards whose contact pads are offset from an imaginary centerline of the card. The housing of the card receiver includes an upper structure that forms the upper wall of the cavity at the contact blades, with the upper structure having downward projections at the front and rear of the receiver that form both upper and lower walls of the card-receiving cavity.

The panel has window edge portions that lie around the window, and the frame includes a pair of lugs (42) that are projected into the window and that are then raised so lug slots (45) receive an upper edge portion of the window. The frame also has a pair of fingers (60) that are resiliently biased forwardly, that press against the rear of the panel when the lugs are first projected into the window, and that snap forward and lie against window lower edge portions when the lugs are raised. The fingers lie at the ends of laterally extending beams that project from a main portion of the frame. The lugs and fingers form ramps (56, 78) that vertically guide the leading edge of a card being inserted, and the lugs form side guides (112).

In one connector, a support part (14) of the housing clamps a fixing part (42) of each contact against a cover (20), while a deflectable linking branch (50) of the contact extends at an upward incline to a bend (82) that extends to the fork (54). A tool T moved down through an opening (80) in the cover can deflect the linking branch to a deflected position, with the fork then projecting down through a cable. A shoulder (84) on the housing then resists upward fork movement. The cable can be supported by a cable-receiving wall (74) fixed to the support part (14).

The opposite sides of the cavity extend rearward of the support. A card ejecting mechanism (141) includes a pusher (144) that can be manually pushed forward to pivot a lever (146) that pushes the card rearwardly so the card can be grasped and manually pulled out. The pusher is formed of sheet metal with lower and upper flanges (190, 188) that lie against upper and lower portions of the cover, the pusher being confined to solely slideable movement and the lever being pivoting mounted about a pivot axis (A1) on the support. The pivot axis of the lever lies forward of a front edge (78) that limits full insertion of a card, and preferably lies in the area where a polarizing front corner of the card is cut at a 45° angle.

    摘要: A smart card connector of simple design and small size is provided, which retains a fully inserted smart card until a person deflects a tab (172) that releases the smart card, with the connector including a spring (130A) which then partially ejects the smart card so it can be grasped and removed. The apparatus includes a housing (302A) with a dielectric plastic plate-shaped support (72A) that holds contacts (94) with pad-engaging ends (92) projecting above an upwardly-facing face (106) of the plate to engage contact pads of the smart card. The housing forms a forwardly-opening cavity (88) for receiving the smart card when it is rearwardly inserted therein, the housing having a stop (109) that limits rearward movement of the card to a fully inserted position. A card retainer (304A) has a largely rearwardly-facing shoulder (166A) at the front of the cavity to resist withdrawal of the card until the tab is manually deflected. The spring has a spring end (138) lying at the rear of the cavity and biased toward a position forward of the stop, to directly engage the card rear edge to urge the card forwardly out of the cavity. Thus, manual deflection of the tab allows the spring to automatically push the card partially out of the cavity.

The mechanism includes a rocker (142) with a control part (144) that is pivotally mounted about a rocker axis (Y—Y) and that has a rear end forming a tab (186) that projects into the rear end of the card slot, to be deflected downwardly by the card reaching its fully inserted position. The control part also has a front end (174) that is coupled to the contacts to depress them until the card is fully inserted, whereupon the contacts are released to move up. The rocker, which is formed from a single piece of sheet metal, includes a pair of laterally-spaced fastening plates (150) that are fixed to the housing, and a pair of deflectable portions (148, 154) that can be resiliently deformed to permit the control part to pivot. The deflectable portions include torsion bars (148) that can be twisted about the rocker axis and that bias the control part towards the position where the rear end extends into the card slot. The front end of the control part is coupled to the contacts through a plastic molded lever (112) that is pivotally mounted about a second lateral axis (X—X) on the housing.
