摘要: A headlamp aiming and leveling device is provided for attachment to an automotive headlamp to facilitate leveling and aiming of the headlamp beam relative to an automotive vehicle upon which the headlamp is installed. The device comprises: a level-indicating device including a housing. At least one, first part of the housing is affixed to a given surface of a headlamp, such that a remaining portion of the housing is movable relative to said affixed part for varying the inclination of the housing in such a fashion as to permit adjustment of the level-indicating device to indicate a level condition. An adjusting arrangement is operatively coupled with the housing at a second part thereof spaced from the part thereof affixed to the headlamp for moving the housing for achieving the level indication while the headlamp is held in a condition wherein the headlamp beam is level. A locking arrangement is provided for locking the adjusting arrangement in the position at which the level condition is indicated. Accordingly, upon installation of the headlamp upon an automotive vehicle, the headlamp may be adjusted until the level-indicating device indicates a level condition, to thereby assure proper leveling and consequent aiming of the headlamp beam.

摘要: A retractable, non-reusable bleeding time lancet apparatus comprises a housing having an end opening, a blade, and a carrier for fixedly mounting the blade and mounted in the housing for sliding motion toward and away from the end opening. A resilient biasing member is mounted in the housing in a prestressed condition and is operatively coupled for selectively urging the carrier for achieving sliding motion toward and away from the housing end opening. A non-resettable release member normally retains the biasing member in its prestressed condition and is selectively activatable for releasing the resilient biasing member to urge the carrier in a sliding motion for projecting at least a cutting edge of the blade through the end opening. Cooperating surfaces on the housing and carrier define respective limits of sliding motion of the carrier corresponding to extended and retracted positions of the blade cutting edge relative to the housing end opening. The resilient biasing member is operatively engaged with the carrier for achieving a compound sliding movement of the carrier comprising an initial portion including extension of the carrier for projecting the blade cutting edge outwardly of the housing end opening, immediately followed by a second portion including retraction of the carrier for retraction of the blade cutting edge back into the housing.

摘要: There is disclosed an improved adjusting mechanism for an articulated headlamp construction or the like. The adjusting mechanism is comprised of a minimum number of parts, namely a housing, a scroll member and an adjusting rack member. The scroll member provides the input member for the mechanism and upon rotation thereof rotative movement thereof is transformed into transitory movement of the rack member pursuant to a spiral or scroll projection that is engaged with teeth on the adjusting rack member. The transitory movement of the adjusting rack member will correspondingly produce pivotal movement of the articulated headlamp component. If desired, the adjusting rack member may be curved so that the movement of the end thereof affixed to the headlamp will closely approximate the pivotal movement of the headlamp component. Further, there is disclosed a combination of an articulated headlamp component and an adjusting mechanism of the type having a rotatable input member and a output member operatively connected thereto for transitory movement upon rotation of the input member. In this regard, the output member is provided with a socket construction on the end thereof which is engaged with a ball component of a ball-headed screw affixed to an articulated headlamp thereby eliminating the need for brackets and individual socket components affixed to the headlamp as is the standard practice in the art.

摘要: A mounting assembly is provided for mounting a headlamp assembly or the like relative to an automobile frame member or the like so as to permit generally vertical and horizontal adjustment of the headlamp assembly relative to the frame member for aiming of the headlamp beam. The frame member has an elongate slot for slidably receiving the mounting assembly and the headlamp assembly defines at least one mounting aperture for coupling to the mounting assembly. The mounting assembly comprises a slot-engaging member for slidably engaging the elongate slot of the frame member and comprising a pair of spaced a part, parallel and generally horizontal surface portions joined by a transverse support portion and sized to slidably interfit with the slot, and a headlamp engaging member comprising an elongate member pivotally mounted to the slot-engaging member and having mounting structure thereon for mounting at least one outer end portion thereof to the headlamp assembly. A pivotal coupling structure joins the slot-engaging member and the headlamp engaging member for permitting a predetermined degree of pivotal motion of the headlamp engaging member relative to the slot-engaging member about at least one of generally vertical and horizontal axes, respectively, so as to permit adjustment of the headlamp assembly for aiming of a headlamp beam relative to at least one of the generally vertical and horizontal axis.

摘要: A photo-optic collector assembly for use with an automobile headlamp assembly or the like comprises a collector member for receiving and redirecting light outwardly of the automobile headlamp assembly, a mounting member for engaging the collector member and for removably mounting the collector member to extend through a mounting aperture in the headlamp assembly, and a gasket member engageable intermediate a portion of the mounting member and the headlamp assembly for forming a substantially watertight seal about the mounting aperture. The collector member and the mounting member include cooperating assembly portions for initially engaging the collector member and mounting member in a preassembled condition for shipping and handling thereof and for thereafter mounting the collector member to the mounting member and assembling the mounting member to the headlamp assembly, respectively, in a fully assembled condition.

摘要: The present invention relates to an improved delivery system for a dental treatment solution. More particularly, the apparatus disclosed includes a housing defining a well, a reservoir container for the dental treatment solution, and a pump for delivery of the solution to a hand piece. The pump includes an electrically energizable prime mover such as a motor or solenoid, a heater, and a control for the overall system. The control for the system provides a timing arrangement which is actuated upon placement of the reservoir container within the housing well, and which disables the system upon completion of the timing cycle. This feature, coupled with the employment of a visual signal, provides a dental professional with an indication of the strength or useful life of the dental treatment solution. Also disclosed are novel constructions for the pump and the heater, along with a novel design for the reservoir container.

摘要: An adjusting mechanism for a headlamp or the like, comprises a first housing piece and a second housing piece defining first and second orthogonally disposed gear-receiving bores when assembled. The bores intersect at a peripheral location with respect to each other so as to receive respectively a drive gear member and an adjusting gear member disposed with the gear members being engageable at the locations where the bores intersect. The housing pieces receive and guide a drive shaft for engagement with the drive gear and extending outwardly from the housing. The second housing piece receives an adjusting shaft for engagement with the adjusting gear and extending from the housing for engagement with a headlamp or the like, such that by rotation of the drive gear members, rotational movement will be imparted to the adjusting shaft to effect adjustment of a headlamp assembly or the like. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, the adjusting mechanism further includes a retainer clip member and cooperating structure on the retainer clip member and on the two housing pieces respectively for maintaining the latter in an assembled condition with the retainer member. The retainer member further includes structure for aligning the adjusting shaft member for engagement with the adjusting gear.

摘要: An adjustment gear mechanism utilizing a plastic adjustment gear and integrally formed structures which securely retain a drive member. The plastic gear is formed to provide both a gear tooth arrangement which cooperatively meshes with a drive gear and an integrally formed adjustment member bore which provides prevailing torque for an adjustment member. The gear tooth arrangement on the plastic gear is formed to cooperatively mesh with a metal drive gear and withstand the tooth load and deflection applied by the metal drive gear. The drive member is non-adhesively retained by the integrally formed structures which maintain operative engagement between the drive member and the drive gear which it rotates. The structure and materials of the mechanism also provide adjustment-retaining purchase such that when a desired adjustment is achieved using the adjustment mechanism the adjustment resists disturbance by accidental, vibrational or other forces exerted upon either the drive member or the adjustment member.

摘要: A headlamp aiming apparatus is provided for attachment to an automotive headlamp assembly which includes a frame member rigidly mountable to an automotive vehicle and a headlamp mounted to the frame member for pivotal motion about a horizontal and/or vertical axis of the headlamp for aiming the headlamp beam. The apparatus includes an aim-indicating arrangement having a housing mounted for movement in unison with a given surface of the headlamp so that the housing is movable with the headlamp during aiming. A headlamp adjusting assembly is operatively coupled with the housing for producing movement of both the housing and the headlamp relative to the frame member for achieving the aimed condition. An indicator adjusting assembly is provided for adjusting of the aim-indicating means to indicate an aimed condition of the associated headlamp and, in particular, while the headlamp is in a condition wherein the beam is aimed as desired responsive to adjustment by the headlamp adjusting assembly. Accordingly, the headlamp adjusting assembly may be thereafter adjusted as necessary until the aim-indicating arrangement indicates said aimed condition to thereby assure proper subsequent aiming of the headlamp beam.
