摘要: A load line regulated switched-mode power converter supplies an output voltage and an output current to a load. The power converter includes an inductor, a switch coupled to the inductor, a first impedance, a second impedance, and a power converter controller. The power converter controller includes a first sense circuit to obtain momentary information on a first current which flows through the first impedance, and which is related to the output current. A difference between a zero load voltage and the output voltage is determined to obtain a difference level. A second sense circuit supplies further information on a second current which flows through the second impedance, and which is related to the first current. An integrator integrates a difference between the further information and the difference level to obtain a correction signal. A switch controller receives the difference level, the momentary information and the correction signal to control the switch to obtain a substantially zero correction signal in a steady state.

摘要: A DC-DC converter includes a switch (S1) which periodically connects an inductor (L) to a DC-input voltage (Vi) during an on-period (Ton) of a period time (Tp). The operating frequency (fo) of the DC-DC converter is the inverse of the period time (Tp). An output (O1) of the DC-DC converter is coupled to the inductor (L) to supply an output voltage (Vo). A controller (CO) controls the operating frequency (fo) of the DC-DC converter to be substantially proportional to the output voltage (Vo) to obtain a substantially constant average duration of the on-period (Ton) as function of the output voltage (Vo).

摘要: A power converter comprises an inductor (LP) and a controllable switch (CF) coupled to the inductor. A switch controller (1) supplies a periodic switching signal (VC1) which has a repetition time and a duty cycle to the controllable switch (CF) to generate a periodical inductor current (IL) through the inductor. A generator (2) generates an emulated signal (IE) based on timing information (TI) which represents the repetition time and the duty cycle to emulate a current signal being representative of the inductor current. A comparator (3) compares the emulated signal (IE) with the current signal (CS) to obtain an error signal (E). A generator controller (4) receives the error signal (E) to supply a control signal (VD) to the generator (2) to adapt a property of the emulated signal (IE) to become substantially equal to a property of the current signal (CS).

摘要: There is provided a switch mode power supply circuit including at least one inductive component coupled to an associated switching device for cyclically connecting the inductive component to a source of power. The circuit includes a signal output representative of a voltage at a junction of the at least one inductive component to the switching device. The circuit further comprises a hard switching amplitude detector for deriving a measure of hard switching amplitude occurring in operation in the switching device the detector including a signal processing path for receiving the signal output and generating the measure of hard switching amplitude therefrom. The signal path includes: a signal differentiator for imperfectly differentiating the signal output to generate a corresponding imperfectly differentiated signal; and a signal integrator for integrating the imperfectly differentiated signal in a temporally-gated manner for generating the measure of hard switching.

摘要: A DC—DC converter with an inductor (L) and a switch (S1, S2) comprises an averaging circuit (2) which generates an average correction signal (ACS) representative for the difference of the peak current (IPEAK) and the actual average current (IAVE) through the inductor (L). A controller (2, 3, 4) controls the output voltage (VOUT) of the DC—DC converter based on regulating the duty-cycle of the switch (S1, S2) dependent on a sense signal (SES) passing a reference current level (RPCS), as in prior art peak current or valley current controlled DC—DC converters, but now using a reference current level (RPCS) that is also based on the average correction signal (ACS) and not only on the output voltage (VOUT). This enables the converter to control the output voltage (VOUT) more precisely.

摘要: The invention relates to an energy converter for supplying electric energy from an energy source to a load. The converter comprises a transformer having a primary side and a secondary side, the secondary side being adapted to be connected to the load. At least a first and a second controllable switch are arranged in series with each other. The energy converter further comprises a control device for generating control signals with which the first and the second switch are opened and closed for generating an alternating current in the primary side of the transformer, the control device comprising with means for comparing a threshold value with the value of a quantity which relates or is equal to the value of a change of the voltage per unit of time at a node of the first switch and the second switch for determining switching instants of the first and the second switch. The control device is adapted to determine a reached maximum value of said quantity and to determine the threshold value on the basis of the determined maximum value of the quantity. As a result, delay of the comparator may be compensated, while in the near-capacitive mode switching can take place with minimal switching losses.
