摘要: A semiconductor on fiber optic substrate is composed of a thin layer of electronic grade semiconductor material which is bonded to a substrate which is a fiber optic plate. The fiber optic plate acts as a continuous sheet of optical waveguides to transport light between semiconductor layers with high efficiency and with little defocusing. Integrated circuits are constructed on the semiconductor layer. Chips of this combination can then be stacked and optically interconnected via the optical fibers compromising the fiber optic plate using light emitting and light receiving devices mounted on said semiconductor layers.

摘要: The present invention relates, generally, to a method and apparatus for electrowinning metals, and more particularly to a method and apparatus for copper electrowinning using the ferrous/ferric anode reaction and a flow-through anode, such as, for example, a dimensionally stable carbon, carbon composite, metal-graphite, or stainless steel anode. In general, the use of a flow-through anode—coupled with an effective electrolyte circulation system—enables the efficient and cost-effective operation of a copper electrowinning system employing the ferrous/ferric anode reaction at a total cell voltage of less than about 1.5 V and at current densities of greater than about 26 Amps per square foot (about 280 A/m2), and reduces acid mist generation. Furthermore, the use of such a system permits the use of low ferrous iron concentrations and optimized electrolyte flow rates as compared to prior art systems while producing high quality, commercially saleable product (i.e., LME Grade A copper cathode or equivalent), which is advantageous.

摘要: A vibration mounting comprises a base member (10) for mounting to a mounting location and a support member (14) for supporting a load. The support member is spaced apart from the base member in a load-bearing direction by a vibration-isolating element (18) of a resilient material. The vibration mounting has a centre-line in the load-bearing direction. The vibration-isolating element comprises a plurality of lobes (24) on each side of a plane passing through the centre-line. Each lobe (24) extends from the base member (10) towards the support member (14) and also extends in a lateral direction different from that of other lobes. Each lobe (24) has an upper surface engaging the support member and at least one free surface.

摘要: A computer-implemented method for validating client authentication using timing data is described. A connection request is received from a client. Data are transmitted to the client. The client is instructed to retransmit the data. The retransmitted data are received from the client. Timing data that indicates a time to transmit the data to the client and receive the retransmitted data from the client are calculated. A protective element is applied to the timing data.

摘要: Datawords encoded using a first-order Reed-Muller code are decoded using a Fast Hadamard Transform (FHT). Where the dataword is known to comprise a number of unused bits at one end, the soft decisions of the codeword are reordered. Majority polling is then performed on groups of the soft decisions to produce a series of soft decisions which make up a new codeword. The new codeword is then decoded using an FHT of lower order than the FHT applicable to the originally received codeword.

摘要: A multifunctional, self-contained towable backhoe apparatus adapted for direct over-the-road trailering by a towing vehicle, has a support frame having a front and a rear, and a trailering hitch attached to the front. Wheels support the frame at the front and the rear. The rear wheels can function as drive wheels. A backfill blade is movably attached to the rear of the frame. An articulated arm assembly is pivotably mounted on the rear of the frame. A stabilizer with a street pad, a spade, or both, can be secured to the front of the frame for stabilizing the apparatus while in a digging position. The movable backfill blade is capable of movement to a raised position for supporting the articulated arm during transport and movement to at least one lowered ground-engaging position capable of stabilizing the apparatus, of earth moving, or a combination thereof. One end of the articulated arm is adapted for attachment of a tool, including a digging bucket, a pavement breaker, an auger, a grapple, or a fork. The self-contained towable backhoe apparatus can also have a pad on the backfill blade capable of cushioning the articulated arm assembly.
