摘要： A slide valve with integrated removable internals which can operate with fully reversing pressures in a high pressure, high temperature, erosive solid or fluid flow system is disclosed which includes a body having a flow passage through it including a large internal portion, a body portion projecting into the enlarged internal portion, preferably a cone suspended in non-external load bearing relation with the body, a valve surface or orifice plate releasably secured on the projecting body portion, and a slide valve slideable in the enlarged internal portion adjacent the valve surface having side portions extending transversely of the direct flow passage in the enlarged internal portion. Traversely spaced guides are disposed in the enlarged internal portion, either releasably secured to the valve surface or formed integrally with the valve surface which are in the form of side members. The transversely extending portion of the slide valve has slides that interfit with the guides so that the slide valve is guided adjacent the valve surface into open and close position and out of the direct flow path through the flow passage. The valve may have a single slide valve or a double slide valve arranged in end-to-end relationship for opening and closing the valve. Preferably the support cone is made up of material different from the valve body and is supported on a body ledge with a bi-metallic weld between the column and the body that is not subject to external load. Preferably, the body has an external shell constructed of low cost, low temperature materials, includes insulation material which reduces heat flow and includes an erosion-resistant surface or lining. Advantageously, a removable bearing sleeve with a removable insulation assembly are included in the valve. Other features are disclosed.

摘要： A guided slide valve having wear-prone internals which can be removed through the bonnet opening and which can operate in high pressure, high temperature erosive solid or fluid flow systems is disclosed which includes a body having a flow passage through it, a large internal portion closed by a removable bonnet or cover, a body portion projecting into the enlarged internal portion, preferably a cone suspended in non-external load-bearing relation with the body, the projecting portion having sides spaced from internal walls of the enlarged internal portion, a valve surface or orifice disposed on the projected body portion, preferably releasably secured, and a slide valve slideable in the enlarged internal portion adjacent the valve surface having transversely spaced side members which extend around the sides of the projecting body portion. Interfitting guides and slides are disposed on the sides of the projecting portion and on the side members of the slide valve for guiding of the slide valve to open and closed positions, and accordingly, they are disposed out of the direct flow path through the flow passage. The valve may have a single slide valve or a double slide valve arranged in end-to-end relationship for opening and closing the valve. Preferably the support cone is made of a material different from the valve body and is supported on a body ledge with a bi-metallic weld between the cone and the body that is not subject to external loads. Preferably, the body has an external shell constructed of low cost, low temperature materials and include insulation material which reduces heat flow and an erosion resistant surface or lining. Advantageously, a removable bearing sleeve with a removable insulation assembly are included in the valve. Other features are disclosed.

The valve has limited but enough universal movement to be self-seating to accommodate thermal growth. The valve and valve seat can be removed from the valve without taking the valve off the line. A number of embodiments are disclosed.

摘要： A bulk hot coke cooler with a vessel for holding the coolant material and a drum rotatably supported within the vessel so that when the drum rotates, it moves through the coolant, the drum having a plurality of hollow cooling pockets going from one side of the drum to the other which directly contact the hot coke in the drum through which pockets coolant can flow as the drum rotates to enhance the cooling effect of the coolant on the hot coke inside the drum, the pockets having end walls which close off the pockets forming an inlet and an outlet for the coolant, the drum wall not overlapping the pocket end wall. Transfer bars formed integrally of the pockets can be used to facilitate coke movement.

摘要： Disclosed is a control valve for flow of solids or fluids which controls flow over a full range and provides a full opening for solids dumping. The control valve includes an orifice plate, a pair of slides disposed adjacent to and downstream of the orifice plate which are relatively moveable toward and away from one another to closed and open positions, and a flow control port in one of the slides which is closed when the slides are in the closed position and which is progressively opened as the slides are moved away from one another. An exit liner is provided downstream of the slides which centers flow after passage through the control port protecting the downstream side of the valve body from serious erosion. Guides for the slides are spaced apart at the center of the flow passage in the valve so that any buildup of solids are cleared on closing the slides. The wear prone parts of the valve are removable from the valve for repair or replacement without removing the valve from the line.
