    摘要: A second layer of physical protection against failure for a fuel line of a vehicle for use with high pressure and cryogenic fuels increases safety. The primary fuel line can be assembled from one or more components. The secondary protection is a single outer sleeve that includes a selectively permeable or impermeable membrane and may be reinforced. The sleeve and enclosed volume can also be used to protect against oxygen liquification in cryogenic applications. A means to detect failure of the primary fuel line and optional means to vent leaking fuel depend on the application. Clamp designs may be used to mount and clamp such assemblies in a vehicle structure.

    摘要: A subsea pipeline (10) of pipe-in-pipe configuration comprises an inner pipe (14), an outer pipe (16) spaced radially from the inner pipe and an annulus (20) defined by the radial spacing between the inner and outer pipes. A series of longitudinally-spaced outward projections (22) extend radially outwardly into the annulus from the inner pipe and are movable longitudinally relative to the outer pipe. A corresponding series of longitudinally-spaced inward projections (24) extend radially inwardly into the annulus from the outer pipe and are movable longitudinally relative to the inner pipe. When the inner pipe is subject to thermal elongation or contraction in use of the pipeline, the inner pipe is movable longitudinally relative to the outer pipe, hence moving the outward projections between and relative to the inward projections. The pipeline may be buried to restrain the outer pipe. The annulus may be flooded, in which case the inner pipe is covered with wet insulation.

    摘要: A system for packing and assembling a flexible duct that includes a sleeve. The sleeve includes a tubular vapor barrier and an insulating layer within the vapor barrier and includes a central cavity. Further, the sleeve is radially compressed and rolled along an axial direction. The system also includes an air core sized to fit within the central cavity of the insulating layer. The air core includes a sheet that blocks fluid flow therethrough and a structural support coiled within the sheet and the air core is flattenable and not within the rolled sleeve.

    摘要: A conduit embedded in thermoplastic and adhered to a pipeline with a porous material assisting in the adhesion. The porous material is adhered to the pipeline, the porous material having at least some pores occupied by the thermoplastic. The porous material may be a sleeve of fibrous material. The adhesion may be accomplished by positioning a sleeve of fibrous material around a guide, bringing the thermoplastic into contact with the sleeve and heating the thermoplastic to cause the thermoplastic to enter pores of the sleeve. The guide forms a barrier preventing the thermoplastic from reaching a portion of the sleeve, and that portion is adhered to the object. This method may also be applied to adhere a thermoplastic, with or without a conduit, to any object.

    摘要: An inner structure is within an outer structure. A shield mount of a shield is attached to the outer structure. A sleeve of the shield extends from the shield mount through an aperture in the outer structure to a distal end of the shield. The sleeve is mated with the port at the distal end through a slip joint interface where a cylindrical sleeve surface of the sleeve contacts a cylindrical port surface of a port of the inner structure. The fluid transfer tube extends from an inner tube end through a bore of the shield and at least into the port to an outer tube end. An inner coupling is disposed at the inner tube end and mated with the inner structure through a cone seal interface. An outer coupling is disposed at the outer tube end and attached to the outer structure.

    摘要: A pipe-in-pipe assembly with thermally-insulating spacers positioned in an annulus to act radially between inner and outer pipes is disclosed. The spacers have at least one circumferentially-extending array of circumferentially-spaced ribs that define longitudinally-extending passageways in gaps between neighbouring ribs of the array. Cables including heating elements extend longitudinally along, the annulus outside the inner pipe. The cables extend longitudinally along the passageways. At least one insulation layer disposed radially outboard of the cables has insulating elements disposed in the gaps between the ribs and/or an insulating layer extending around the inner pipe, positioned radially outboard of the ribs and bridging the gaps. Bands encircle and retain components of the insulation layer. Insulation may also be disposed on the inner pipe between first and second arrays of ribs, those arrays being spaced longitudinally from each other.

    摘要: A line connector with two mutually separate flow paths for the connection of a pipe-in-pipe line. The line connector has an inner connecting element for connecting to an inner pipe of the pipe-in-pipe line, an outer connecting element for connecting to an outer pipe of the pipe-in-pipe line, a first attachment element for attachment of the first line to the inner pipe, and a second attachment element for attachment of the second line to the outer pipe. The inner connecting element and the first attachment element are integrally formed on a separate attachment part. The outer connecting element is integrally formed on a separate pipe adapter part. And, the second attachment element is integrally formed on a separate connecting sleeve. The connecting sleeve permits at both sides, in the unassembled state, being pushed over the outer pipe.     摘要: A separation duct for encompassing an elongate member. The duct includes longitudinal internal spacers extend longitudinally in a direction of a longitudinal axis of the duct. A longitudinal plane for each spacer is substantially parallel to the longitudinal plane of the other spacers. The spacers support the elongate member and resist slippage of the duct relative to the elongate member. The duct may be used to provide separation and protection for elongate members of a range of outside dimensions.
