摘要： A control system having a host computer and one or more control computers connected to an interface for control of a process or machinery. The control computers are capable of automatically initiated network address assignment and configuration when powered up after installation. The network address is based on a location identifier situated in the interface that corresponds to a specific connection thereof to the control computer. The control computer reads the location identifier from the interface and requests a network address. The host computer assigns the network address based on the location identifier. Configuration of the control computer then proceeds. The procedure applies to newly installed control computers, whether first time installment or a replacement for a failed control computer.

摘要： A method of regenerating tidal mud flats which have a degraded or eroding profile includes the steps of ascertaining the ambient tidal range and wave climate of a mud flat to be regenerated and deriving from these data a new, regenerated profile for the mud flat, and depositing densified or dewatered mud or clay on the mud flat to build the new profile. The wave climate, and hence the sedimentary regime, of the mud flat is modified by breakwater or barrier means to render the mud flat receptive to deposition and retentive of the deposited mud or clay to preserve the regenerated profile. The breakwater or barrier means may be an offshore, floating breakwater adapted to suppress high and short-period waves but to permit the passage of low and long-period waves.

摘要： A solid state heater uses a heater subassembly employing a terminal block, terminals and a PTCR or NTCR heater. The terminals engage and make electrical contact with the heater, thus eliminating the need for a rigid heater housing. The heater subassembly can be formed into a soft body or rigid body heater for heating purposes. The soft body heater uses a soft casing that envelops the heater subassembly with the casing expanding upon heating to provide a snug fit during use. The heater subassembly can be inserted in the cavity of either a soft body or a rigid body with potting compound filling any remaining voids, and the rigid or soft body can then be used for heating purposes.
