摘要:
An indwelling catheter apparatus for providing fluid to the central venous system, comprising: (a) an indwelling cannula adapted for insertion into subcutaneous tissue in the chest wall and approximately within the superior vena cava, the indwelling cannula having (i) an indwelling distal end, the distal end having an exit port in fluid communication with the superior vena cava; (ii) a proximal hub end adapted for positioning outside of the body; and (iii) a primary lumen for delivering fluid to the circulatory system; and (b) delivery means for delivering fluid medicament to the subcutaneous tissue surrounding a portion of the cannula.

An indwelling catheter apparatus for providing nutrients into a patient's stomach comprises: (a) an indwelling cannula adapted for insertion through the abdominal and stomach walls and into the patient's stomach, the indwelling cannula having (i) an indwelling distal end disposed within the stomach, the distal end having an exit port; and (ii) a proximal hub end adapted for positioning outside of the body; (b) delivery means for delivering fluid medicament to essentially only the area of subcutaneous tissue of the abdominal and stomach walls, (c) distal securing means for securing the distal end of the cannula within the stomach; and (d) proximal securing means for securing the proximal hub end of the cannula outside of the body.
摘要:
The present invention relates to medical treatment devices. In particular, according to one embodiment, the present invention a medical treatment device that includes, for example, a tube member, a treatment member by way of which energy can be transmitted in connection with performance of a medical procedure, a sleeve, and a hub member. In this example, the treatment member is positioned within the tube member and the tube member thus affords a degree or protection to the treatment member. The combination of the treatment member and the tube member is configured to be partially received within, and secured by, the hub member. In particular, the hub member includes a securement portion and a delivery portion which are releasably attached to each other.

An inflation syringe having an improved display and modularized component assembly. More particularly, the present invention relates to methods and apparatuses for providing both numeric and non-numeric indications of an inflation pressurization associated with an inflation syringe. A modularized component assembly for an inflation syringe allowing independent components to be tested independent of the other components of the inflation syringe.
摘要:
A novel catheter apparatus for use in delivering an anesthetic agent or other fluid medicament to the portion of subcutaneous tissue through which a catheter device has been inserted into a patient, thereby allowing the catheter device to be retracted without causing pain or discomfort to the patient. The catheter device has an indwelling cannula adapted for insertion through subcutaneous tissue into a patient's body. A helical sheath is formed from an elongate band that is wrapped around the cannula in a helical fashion so as to be capable of being positioned within the subcutaneous tissue once the cannula has been inserted into the body. The helical sheath has formed therein a lumen into which the anesthetic agent or other fluid medicament can be delivered via a hub that is connected to the proximal end of the helical sheath. The helical sheath has formed therein a plurality of delivery holes that form a fluid communication path with the lumen. The delivery holes permit the anesthetic agent or fluid medicament to be delivered to the surrounding subcutaneous tissue.

A novel catheter apparatus for use in delivering an anesthetic agent or other fluid medicament to the portion of subcutaneous tissue through which a catheter device has been inserted into a patient, thereby allowing the catheter device to be further manipulated or retracted without causing pain or discomfort to the patient. The catheter device has an indwelling cannula adapted for insertion through subcutaneous tissue into a patient's body. A cylindrical sleeve around the cannula can be positioned within the subcutaneous tissue once the cannula has been inserted into the body. The cylindrical sleeve has formed therein one or more lumens into which the anesthetic agent or other fluid medicament can be delivered via a hub that is connected to the proximal end of the cylindrical sleeve. The cylindrical sleeve has formed therein a plurality of delivery holes that form a fluid communication path with the one or more lumens. The delivery holes permit the anesthetic agent or fluid medicament to be delivered to the surrounding subcutaneous tissue.

A biopsy collection device may include a filter located distally of an aspiration device to collect a biological sample aspirated from a patient. The biological sample may be accessible to a clinician without the need to expel the sample from the aspiration device. The filter may be disposed in a filter housing that is in fluid communication with the aspiration device and the vasculature of a patient.

An inflation syringe having an improved display and method of displaying pressurization information. More particularly, the present invention relates to methods and apparatuses for providing both numeric and non-numeric indications of an inflation pressurization associated with an inflation syringe. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a progressive non-numeric display is provided for displaying the pressurization of the inflation syringe along with numeric indicators of the pressurization. The progressive display includes a plurality of indicia corresponding to a range of inflation pressurization values. The indicia are actuated to indicate inflation pressurization and to allow the practitioner to not only easily monitor the general intensity of the pressurization but to monitor changes in the pressurization without needing to interpret numerical values. This permits the user to ascertain the relationship between the current pressurization, desired pressurization, and the rate of pressurization.
