    摘要: A process for preparing fluorocarboxylic acid halides comprises the steps of (a) forming a starting composition comprising (i) at least one fluorosulfonic acid halide comprising at least one halosulfonyldifluoromethyl group (--Cf.sub.2 SO.sub.2 X, wherein X is halogen); and (ii) at least one Group III or Group V Lewis acid; and (b) allowing the fluorosulfonic acid halide and the Lewis acid to react to form a product composition comprising at least one fluorocarboxylic acid halide. The process enables the preparation of even higher molecular weight fluorocarboxylic acid halides in good yield.

    摘要: A process for preparing inert or functional, tertiary carbon-containing perfluorochemicals comprises the step of electrochemically fluorinating, in the presence of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, a composition comprising at least one starting compound selected from the group consisting of those fluoroalkanes, fluoroalkenes, fluoroalcohols, fluorocarboxylic acids, fluorocarboxylic acid halides, fluorocarboxylic acid esters, and combinations thereof which contain at least one (preferably, only one) --CX.sub.2 --C(R.sub.f).sub.2 -- group, wherein each X is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, fluorine, and CH.sub.2 OH, with the proviso that only one X can be CH.sub.2 OH, and each R.sub.f group is independently perfluoroalkyl. The process enables preservation of the highly-branched structure of the starting compounds resulting in high product yields.

    摘要: Perfluoroisobutene-MeOH adduct (2H-octafluororisobutyl methyl ether) is converted to hexafluoropropane by reaction with trialkyl amine (eg. triethyl amine) and H.sub.2 O. 1,1,1,3,3-Pentafluoropropene is also produced in lesser amounts. The electrolysis of the reaction product in anhydrous HF (at 10.degree.-50.degree. C., 0-140 kPa, and 50-300 amps/m.sup.2 anode area) yields C.sub.3 F.sub.8 and some CF.sub.3 CFHCF.sub.3 which is condensed out of a gas stream from the electrolysis cell.

    摘要: A process for preparing perfluoroalkanesulfonyl fluorides, e.g., perfluoromethanesulfonyl fluoride, comprises electrochemically fluorinating in the presence of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride at least one precursor compound selected from the group consisting of .alpha.,.beta.-difluoroalkane-.beta.-sultones, e.g., 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane sultone, and the corresponding .alpha.-halocarbonylfluoroalkanesulfonyl halides, e.g., fluorocarbonyldifluoromethanesulfonyl fluoride. The process can be used to prepare perfluoroalkanesulfonyl fluorides in good yield and can be, for example, both more electrically-efficient and more fluorine-efficient than the conventional preparative method involving the electrochemical fluorination of hydrocarbon alkanesulfonyl halides.
