摘要: A projection display includes a light source for generating a beam output that contains first, second and third color components, a color separation/synthesizing prism unit having a color separation part for separating the beam output from the light source into the first, second and third color components that exit the prism unit in three different directions, and first, second and third light modulators for modulating the first, second and third color components that exit from the color separation part. The prism unit further has a color synthesizing part that receives the modulated first, second and third color components from the light modulators and that synthesizes the modulated first, second and third color components so as to form an output beam. A projection lens receives the output beam from the color synthesizing part, and is used to project a color image. The first, second and third color components have equal optical path lengths measured from the light source to the respective light modulator. The first, second and third color components further have equal optical path lengths measured from the respective light-modulator to the projection lens.

摘要: In a projection display, input light is separated by a polarization beam splitter prism into first and second color components, and a third color component. The first and second color components, together with a light leakage component that is associated with the third color component, are directed by the polarization beam splitter prism to a color synthesizing prism or a color splitter prism set, which then separates the first and second color components and the light leakage component so as to travel in three different directions, respectively. The first and second color components from the color synthesizing prism or the color splitter prism set, and the third color component from the polarization beam splitter prism are processed by reflective first, second and third light modulators, respectively.

Each of the first, second and third color components has a respective optical path length that is measured from the first beam splitter to a respective one of the first, second and third light modulators. 摘要: An illumination device and an image projection apparatus having the same. The illumination device has a light source with multiple light emitting devices and an uniform illuminating means evenly distributed in front of the light source. The light emitted from the light source can thus uniformly project on a light valve. In addition, a polarization converter is used to convert the light into a usable polarization type, so as to increase the illumination efficiency. The image projection apparatus basically has three of the above mentioned illumination devices to emit three elementary color lights projecting onto a screen.

摘要: An adjustable light-modulating device for a projection display apparatus including a color separator capable of providing colored light includes a light valve and an adjusting mechanism. The light valve is disposed to receive the colored light provided by the color separator of the projection display apparatus, and is capable of modulating the colored light. The adjusting mechanism includes a mounting frame to be disposed between the light valve and the color separator, and a securing unit for securing the light valve to the mounting frame such that the light valve is linearly displaceable and tiltable relative to the mounting frame.

摘要: An adjustable light-modulating device includes: a light valve disposed to receive colored light provided by a color separator of a projection display apparatus, and capable of modulating the colored light; an adjusting mechanism including a fixing frame to be disposed between the light valve and the color separator, and a mounting frame coupled rotatably to the fixing frame; and a securing unit for securing the light valve to the mounting frame. The fixing frame defines a first hole, and has a first periphery surrounding the first hole. The mounting frame defines a second hole registered with the first hole, and has a second periphery surrounding the second hole. The adjusting mechanism further includes a guide projection formed on one of the first and second peripheries and projecting toward and contacting slidably the other one of the first and second peripheries.
