    摘要: A coupler of winding key with a winding shaft comprises a threaded member formed on one of the key and the shaft and a bottomed aperture formed in the other in which a coiled spring is locked against withdrawal. The threaded member is threadably engaged with the coiled spring to couple the key with the winding shaft. When the winding key is turned in a direction to spread the coiled spring, a rotating drive is transmitted to the winding shaft while the key rotates idly when it is turned in a direction to tighten the coiled spring.

    摘要: A winding core holding mechanism is described for holding at least one end portion of a winding core on which a thin medium such as paper, film, or cloth is wound. The mechanism comprises a base fixed in the axial direction of the winding core. A larger diameter reference portion is included, which is capable of axially moving in and out of the base and abuts an end face of the winding core. The mechanism also comprises a tapered larger diameter centering portion which is capable of axially moving in and out of the larger diameter reference portion and fits into the winding core of larger diameter. Also included is a smaller diameter reference portion, which is capable of axially moving in and out of the base and abuts an end face of the winding core of smaller diameter. A tapered smaller diameter centering portion is further included, which is capable of axially moving in and out of the smaller diameter reference portion and fits into the winding core of smaller diameter. In order to hold the winding core of larger diameter, the larger diameter centering portion centers the winding core while falling into the larger diameter reference portion, and also the larger diameter reference portion falls into the base to position the end face at a predetermined reference position with respect to the base. In order to hold the winding core of smaller diameter, the smaller diameter centering portion centers the winding core while falling into the smaller diameter reference portion, and also the smaller diameter reference portion, the larger diameter reference portion, and the larger diameter centering portion fall into the base to position the end face at the reference position.

The steps of the method are: running the tape while moving the magnetic head from a predetermined initial position in the widthwise of the tape until the magnetic head reaches the edge of the tape to record a signal on the tape; subsequently rewinding the tape to the predetermined initial position to return the magnetic head to a position of the tape where the signal has been recorded; subsequently, under the condition of electrically connecting the write gap to the read circuit to cause the write gap to serve as a read gap, running the tape while causing the magnetic head to follow the signal recorded on the tape to read the signal; and subsequently comparing the read signal with a reference value to detect the edge of the tape.
