Abstract: Methods are provided for routing communications between different recipients at an entity having access to a shared communication log and using presence information. The methods include receiving a communication from a user to an entity by a primary recipient at a call center for the entity, obtaining identifying information for the user, storing a communication log regarding the communication of the user, identifying a current presence of a secondary recipient for the entity, transferring the communication from the primary recipient to the secondary recipient in response to the presence identification of the secondary recipient indicating the secondary recipient is accessible, updating the communication log with information regarding the transfer from the primary recipient to the secondary recipient, and providing the communication log to the secondary recipient during the communication between the first user and the primary recipient or secondary recipient.

Abstract: A method including identifying an interaction between two parties, the interaction hosted by a remote server, is provided. The method includes identifying a first mode from a provider for the interaction by the two parties from multiple modes provided by the remote server, and obtaining, from the remote server, an identification for each of the parties, the identification being associated with the mode. The method includes identifying a duration of the interaction for each of the at least two parties and associating the interaction with an asynchronous interaction in a second communication mode from a second provider having a common identification with one of the parties. The method includes storing, in a database, a record of the interaction event that includes the first mode, the identification for each of the at least two parties, and the duration of the interaction for each of the at least two parties.

Abstract: Methods for predicting preferred communications patterns are provided. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a request from a first user to initiate communication with a second user by a first communication method, determining a communication preference hierarchy of the second user based on a plurality of factors concerning the second user, wherein the plurality of factors include a presence state, selecting a second communication method from the communication preference hierarchy, wherein the second communication method is preferred over the first communication method in the communication preference hierarchy, and in response to the request from the first user, providing a recommendation to the first user to communicate with the second user by the second communication method. Abstract: A method including receiving, from a participant, a request for starting an event including at least one second participant and a topic is provided. The method includes granting access to the event to a participant, permitting the participant to access and modify the document in the event, and receiving a request from one of the participants to switch one of the first client device or a second client device used by a participant to continue to participate in the event. A system to perform the above method is also provided.
