    摘要: A drill chuck has a body formed with an axially forwardly open tool recess and holding a plurality of tool-gripping jaws. A socket formed with an axially forwardly open polygonal-section seat is nonrotatable in a seat of the chuck body and axially displaceable in the chuck body into and out of a tool-releasing position. A latch is radially displaceable in the socket in the tool-releasing position of the socket between an inner retaining position projecting radially into the seat and an outer freeing position clear of the seat and projecting radially into the pocket. The latch is aligned radially with the pocket only in the tool-releasing position. The chuck body engages the latch and forces it into the inner retaining position.

A tightening ring axially fixed but rotatable about the axis on the body has a screwthread meshing with the teeth so that rotation of the ring displaces the jaws in their guides. An adjustment sleeve is rotatable about the chuck axis on the body. The body has rearward of the tightening ring an outer surface directed toward an inner surface of the adjustment sleeve. Mechanism inside the adjustment sleeve couples the adjustment sleeve to the tightening ring. A support washer has an inner periphery axially fixed to the outer body surface and an outer periphery axially fixed to the inner adjustment-sleeve surface.

Respective jaws are displaceable in angled guides of the body and a ring rotatable on the body has an internal screwthread meshing with the jaws for moving the jaws between their end positions on rotation of the ring. A latch element is radially displaceable on the body between a holding position projecting radially into the bore and locking the spindle therein and a freeing position clear of the bore. A sleeve is displaceable between a latched position forcing the element into the holding position and an unlatched position allowing it to move into the freeing position. A spring between the sleeve and the body urges the sleeve into the latched position. The spring is mostly forward of rear ends of the jaws in the rear-end positions thereof.

    摘要: A lathe chuck has a chuck body centered on and rotatable about a main axis and formed with a plurality of radially extending jaw-guide grooves and, transverse to the grooves, with respective guide passages each in turn formed with an abutment. Respective jaws displaceable in the grooves each have at least one tooth exposed in the respective guide passage and respective control rods displaceable along the passages each have at least one tooth meshing with the tooth of the respective jaw. A control pin is axially displaceable in each rod between an extended position projecting into the respective jaw-guide groove and a retracted position. The control pins are displaced on engagement with the teeth of the respective jaws into the retracted positions. A latch pin is axially displaceable in each rod between an extended latching position engaging the respective abutment and preventing movement of the respective rod in the respective passage and a retracted position permitting such movement. A spring urges the pins into their extended positions, and a coupling member engaged between the pins displaces the respective latch pin into the respective retracted position on displacement of the control pin into its retracted position. Thus, when there is no jaw in the guide groove, the latch pin of the respective control rod latches same against-movement in the respective passage.
