Abstract: A method for applying a sealing is disclosed which includes applying a liquid sealant to a component in a predefined area of the component and treating the predefined area with a plasma beam prior to applying the liquid sealant and/or treating the liquid sealant with a water spray after applying the liquid sealant. An apparatus for applying a sealing to a component in accordance with this method is also disclosed.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes an engine block including a plurality of cylinders. A cylinder head is mounted to the engine block and includes intake and exhaust passages in communication with the plurality of cylinders. A cylinder head cover is mounted to the cylinder head and defines a cavity between the cylinder head and the cylinder head cover. An oil passage is disposed in the cavity and includes at least one oil jet for spraying oil at a surface of the cylinder head that is heated by the exhaust passages.

Abstract: An oil drain plug is disclosed for cooperating with a socket in an oil sump. The plug includes a main body, an eccentric pin protruding from the main body, and an enlarged tip on an end of the eccentric pin. The socket includes a cup-shaped cavity having a lateral wall open at one end, closed at the opposite end by a bottom wall and including an internal surface for mating with the main body of the plug. The bottom wall includes an external surface facing outside the cavity, a through hole such that the enlarged tip of the plug extends beyond the external surface, and a slot departing from the through hole towards a distal end along an arched path centered in the axis and having a smaller width than the through hole for preventing the enlarged tip of the plug from passing through it.
